1.6 CR remap is nearly here..............can't wait

Featured Replies

The point ..... well firstly, what a stupid question.

1. You may do a lot of town driving, a DPF is essentially a consumable part, price one up, the DPF removal option is a hell of a lot cheaper (DPF on my Toyota Avensis 2.2 was £3k including Labour under Warranty)

2. You get what you pay for, it needs a delete pipe, it needs someone to do the labour, all of this costs money and it has to be mapped out, even if going for the delete option

£719 is not a bad price for it in the grand scheme of things, if you think you will benefit from it, DPF removal is not all about performance.

Its a question ! A stupid one ? Probably ! Don't expect any different from me :) if I'm spending £719 I'd like to know WHATS THE POINT ! , I could have asked it a little differently I guess but I didn't :p

If you're already paying £400 for the remap then an extra £320 for a DPF seems reasonable.

If you weren't having any DPF issues tho and the DPF delete doesn't add any powerrrr (Shark said above DPF delete+ stage 1 =130bhp which is same as stage 1 alone?) then I can see why it would seem pointless. Does protect against a costly future repalcement part tho....

Raw nerve touched :(

No raw nerve touched. It just annoys me when people post stuff that isn't constructive. As you say, you could have asked the same question in a different way. Ie without the negativity and attitude.

Seconded

Seb clearly thought that DPF removal came free with a remap - why do people not look into these things and do research before mouthing off?

Assuming freedom members get the usual Shark discount so that £719 isn't quite as much for those of us in green :)

Thanks for the prompt reply with the price.... not too bad. I would go for the removal and the remap, i like the way my partners Mk1 1.9TDI Fabia drives following its remap, so when my warranty is up i will certainly be doing this.... the DPF removal is just something i want because i don't wish to have to keep in mind that if my job changes (likely) and i am going to be doing far more town driving, i then can expect issues with the DPF, This is just not on, and i want the same freedom to drive it how i like that we have with the MK1 Fabia.

Touchee? I must be missing the obvious then as to me he was simply stating that there's a further discount for Freedom members. Useful info IMO and could save you quite a chunk of cash so surely useful to know?!

erm ok, I guess I can't really argue with that! ;)

I was referring to the discount shark offer for freedom members which from memory is 10% so for a £12 spend thats £71.90 off the bill taking it down to £647.10 which is a much better ammount

Sorry to burst the bubble on the Freedom membership guys, but we only offer than on Stage 1 remaps and not DPF deletes etc.
