Violent hesitation under acceleration vrs

Featured Replies

Hey guys, have had this problem before where there is a very sudden/violent loss of power that almost immediately goes causing the car to violently jerk. it happened a while ago and went away for months but it just happened again. The engine was still cold when it happened. Have heard it could be the egr valve giving up the ghost, anyone agree?? thanks :)

Could be a zillion things, you need to get the error codes read :)

Could be DMF too

Smaller gasket from EGR fixed my stutter/hesitation. 1000% better now.

Wouldnt call it violent tho.....slight is how I would describe it...never heard it described as violent before....sounds like a different problem to me....poss sticking turbo veins ?

Is it mis firing? I had a violent hesitating when accelerating and it was faulty wiring loom in the head. Need vcd to confirm

Ive had something similar a few times, only when it is cold though. Some times its a precurser to it stalling for no reason and engine management +glow plug light coming on.

Vcds said cam/crank sensor, had cam sensor done and still get this issue when it is cold.

So if you get answer let me know...mines an ASZ

Yeah had no lights coming on and it happened under hard acceleration in 2nd so the jolt was pretty violent. When i took it to skoda they said the hesitation was the egr valve on its way out but its only ever happened once since in 6 months (yesterday)

just been on a big drive on country lanes and through towns and didnt experience anything out of sort, the car was warmed up i guess though

Give it a good run when it's warm, clear it out a bit :)
