A few new pics and updates on my VRS

Featured Replies

I haven't been on much recently but here's a wee update on my 6 months of Skoda ownership

In general I am very happy with it. My only gripes are horrendous wind noise from drivers side rear door and the fact my grille and bonnet attract every stone chip in the West of Scotland! Painted bonnet and grille twice already. Now going to buy spare grille and use it for shows. I also intend buying new mirror caps to do the same..... But I intend to carbon fibre these too.

I generally am very happy with the car, decent power, good mpg and a bit different to the usual VAG 'scene' cars. If I could cure the wind noise I would be ecstatic

Anyhoo a few quick pics

And a wee rolling shot on way home from UD's last weekend

The wind noise on the rear doors is a dodgy seal and a known issue so can be fixed relatively easily.

PS: the car is looking good

Looking good, any thoughts on something like venture shield over bonnet. My logic says after a good machine polish it might trap the shiny finish in :D

Loving the wheels, very nice car fella

Cheers guys

I have a few new changes to do over next few months - leather retrim, remove the stunning KW Variant 2 Coilovers, Carbon fibre additions, some engine bay tweaks and get the install done. Not much then ;)

The car is a demo car so needs to demonstrate everything we do ;)

Loving the wheels. .whst inch? 19?

That's a lovely looking car. :)

Jedsy2001 - they are 3SDM wheels in staggered sizing. 8.5" to front and 9.5" to rear. The wheel is called a 0.01

Thanks for comments folks

Aye they are 19" - sorry. Must read things properly ;)

Was there an options box the original owner didn't tick!?

I haven't seen inside but as you have the Columbus for sale I assume it had the nav?

I've seen plenty of xenon's (headlight washers) and rear parking sensors but never seen a UK spec pre-FL vRS with front sensors too!

Seen a few infact i looked at white one few years back but couldnt live with white my self thing was loaded.

Looking the muts nuts. Lovely to see 19's on an Octy. You've done a great job

I need to get things moved on and get ready for this years shows - been caught up with customers cars last few months

I need to sell the KW's now so if anyone is looking for a superb set of KW Variant 2 coilovers in stainless steel then let me know - In no real rush but will be taking them off shortly

Thanks again

I seen you today Iain. You were going towards Hillington (possibly work) and I was west bound just before Paisley junction. Car was looking great. It sits fantastic on the road. I need to get in to see it up close.

Wee update. Been messing about with wheel options but returning to the 3SDM 19's as I think they just work with the car shape. They are getting common but who cares. I just like them

Started the audio system too so watch this space for updates over next few weeks. Needs to be perfect as it's the shops main demo car so gong to be special.
