Track rod replacement.

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon all,

Went to get the tracking done after my car started to pull to the left and was told the track rod is bent on the drivers side.

Im hoping to buy a new one and then replace it myself. Sounds possible with a crows foot spanner.

An OEM part seems to be around £85 plus delivery.

A Lemforder part is only, £35.

Quite a saving and so was wondering what people think about the quality of Lemforder parts or if is worth getting genuine track rod from Skoda?

Thanks.

mine wants a o/s track rod will be done in summer and personally ill be going for the standard one ....

not sure on quality of the other rod but the oem one has lasted 9 years and was probs bashed causing it to fail .... so id rather pay a little extra knowing i wont have to do the job again.

At that price, I might just buy the ECP one(s), like you, when it gets warmer as MOT said slight play in one of them. Car is 11+ years old with 91K miles, I see Laser Tools has tool for removing them, might be worth buying.

lol big hammer ftw

Lemforder are well regarded in the BMW circles - some of their parts are identical to the BMW ones, just without the logos (although the circle for the roundel will be present).

Don't forget to use BRISK25 for 25% off at ECP too.
