4x4 build dates

Featured Replies

Build commencement dates for the Octy 3 4x4 (I think combi only at this stage):

Week 19 2013 1.8 TSI 4x4 DSG

Week 22 2013 2.0 TDI 4x4 6 speed manual,1.6 TDI 4x4 manual.

Week 12 2014 2.0 TDI 135 KW 4x4 DSG (Scout)

Not clear which of these will come to the UK or when.

What's the source of this?

So it looks like the scout will get the 185hp diesel engine. It doesn't sound right, also that the 1.8 TSI will be available.

if it is true, that will be very nice :)

Im really surprised if they are giving the Scout the same engine as the VRS derv but the op is usually spot on with the info. :)

Train to work again today due to snow.

If they do the 185bhp in a Scout with DSG, oh my is that going to be tempting when I come to change in a year or two.................

Somehow though, I suspect the UK will only get the 150bhp in the Scout, same as it didn't get the 170 vRS engine, just the 140.

I think you're going to be right. Id go for it in manual guise if I could still get the Scout with the 185bhp lump - although saying that, the Scout will be less aerodynamic and therefore may be above the £30 tax threshold (not really a deal breaker in the grand scheme of things!)

This would be a real nice surprise, I'd be tempted by a Scout with DSG and the 185bhp engine. Is that likely to cost more than the vRS equivelent (2 wheel drive)?

Regular 4x4 estate with the underbody protection and raised suspension would do me, don't really fancy the plastic trim. But of course that option isn't offered by SUK :(

You can already spec it on fwd liftbacks in Ireland.

I would definitely be up for a 135kW Scout - having not had the guts to get mine remapped!

Les, surely the map will be very tempting come Sept??

Mine will be 3 yrs old in July, and I am very likely to do the same, insurance hike permitting!

That would make it two whole years of no Scout production. What's with the DSG scout? Will they not have a manual option?

I wonder if Skoda CZ and Skoda UK are switched-on enough to read this site!

Anyone have any info re this?

Sadly, my experience with UK dealers suggests not! What a simple way to gauge customer demand - i.e. a properly powerful DSG or manual Scout would sell like hot cakes, as would a vRS 4x4.

Come on Skoda, give your customers (your increasingly loyal customers!) what they want!

(Who's to say that, in 5 years time, Audi owners won't be looking up to Skoda owners!!)

Funnily enough, outside the UK, Skoda isn't perceived at all as a budget brand.

Based on the figures for the hatch, the new 150ps TDi Octy III matches the 0-62 time of the current 170ps vRS so those hoping for the new vRS lump in a Scout will still be better off than Octy II Scouters when it comes to power/weight ratio? :wonder:

It appears their power increases are the result of keeping the same peak torque level, but holding it up higher in the rpm range. Giving more power and a faster, more flexible, engine with the same torque level. Essentially the opposite to my PD 8 valve tdi scout.

So a new scout with 185hp would be faster, but not feel as quick or punchy as the older ones. Especially the remapped older ones.

£19,000 equivalent price tag for the base model on direct currency conversion.

In the Czech republic, 4x4 pushes up the combi price by 33%! (429,900 > 569,900).

TDI/110 2.0 kW motor =150bhp

No mention of a 185bhp TDi version.

Correct.

Oh, I forgot we don't get the Superb Scout in the UK.

Still, see my 'Octavia Scout' thread!
