Ok chaps, here a few photos of the unit, and also a couple have the measuring tape in them to show how big the slot is.

I am happy to go to the dealer and get as many as people want, so I will leave this open for a few days and then later this week once people have said yes, I will want some money and then I can get them sorted for you, they are a shade over £6 per holder, plus a couple of quid for some packing and postage, so is £8.50 OK for you guys?

I don't think so, I do exactly the same thing with my Galaxy S2.

That said, I did think this was a good idea and considered trying to source one when I saw it in the Octy III brochure...

Got 2. Fits ok and looks fine. Iphone 5 tried and held that but not snug, but is ok. Incidentally tried spare one in wife's qashqai and was pretty loose and a bit hopeless but left it there lol

@Gizmo - do you think this would fit in the Superb? Think it might but don't reckon the cover will slide shut?? Might be wrong.

Ordered one today. Am interested to see how it looks and whether it fits my iPhone in it's case. Could be a handy storage solution.

Apologies for not updating this thread recently, although I have been online I hadnt been in the right frame of mind, we had a death in the family and it hit me a lot harder than I had expected (he had cancer so the inevitible was going to happen), the funeral was yesterday and am gradually coming back to the real world now!

Anyway, I have had a couple of PM's about this phone holder, and people are wanting to pay £10 posted so it covers my costs, thats fine, if people are happy with that, but really I want to order about 5 to make it a wotrthwhile order.

So shall I say I will leave the options open for anyone on this til the end of the weekend, then if people let me know between now and then I would like payment the start of next week and I will order them then post late next week how does that sound?

As for sizing, I dont know whether this will fit other models or not, it works happily in the Mk2 and mk3 Octavia, it may work in other models too, manybe even others in the VW range but not sure, the iphone 4, 4s and 5 sits happily in the slot, as for other phone models I dont know as we only have iphones in this house.

Anyway, hope thats all Ok and let me know!

I've been doing some background work on this also as I am keen to "trial" it in the Superb.

Lee @ Preston_Motors is going to do some checks with his Parts Dept and get a price for me, if there is enough interest I'm sure he could do us a deal!

So there are a couple of other options if people want to try it and this should take the pressure off James whilst he deals with his personal life.

Mine arrived today. £5.90 inc. VAT from local dealer. Slot is 70mm long x 20mm wide. It's quite tidy and can fit in either of the cup holders. Is a snug fit into the cup holder so doesn't move about. Overall quite pleased, especially at the price.

Ah, so too small for my Galaxy S2 in it's case then - glad I didn't bother. Then again with Bluetooth now installed in the car I can just leave the phone in my bag

Seems odd to produce a phone holder too small to hold some of the most popular smart phones on the market! Really just useful for iPhones from what I can understand!

I had a new octavia 3 for the day as a courtesy car with this in. Really useful and soft rubber so grips iphone. Tempted to pinch it lol. Will buy one as I hate the one that sticks with the suction on my dashboard.
