What 17" VAG alloys will fit Furby vRS?

Featured Replies

Would need well low profile tyres though right? 225/30 R18?

but I agree! Sweeeet!

I thought the general census was that 18's wouldn't go on a furby?

What size tyres though? Isn't 205 the max safe width?

Some genuine audi TT 17 inch 6-spokes - for a whopping

aren't TT alloys on the wrong PCD????? VW/Skoda/seat are 5x100 and aern't Audi 5x105 or summat????

Nope - Audi is 5 x 100 too, well, except some of the newer ones which have gone down the 5 x 110 route, like the new octy

I have seen a Fabia on here with Audi A8 replica wheels in 17". I thought they looked quite good aswell.

I quite fancy the Audi A8 wheels for mine, but no cash

I too like the finish of those wheels but don't fancy cleaning them!

Would it be a bit tacky to get the TT rims refurbished in a diamond cut finish on the face of the spokes, but with the gaps between painted in anthracite, much in the same way as the attached A8 wheel?

No.

I think that would look excellent!

Of course its down to personal taste, put a photoshop request in

I am still debating on anthracite Octy vRS alloys, hmmmmm

Reckon that could look cool. I've enquired with BJV engineering in Hemel about getting the wheels refurbed, they seem to be pretty cheap and will come and collect the wheels and drop them back to me for free

OK, picked the TT rims up and did a test fit over the weekend. I know they're half an inch wider plus they should stick out about 5mm extra due to offset difference (I believe it's about 5mm) but they seem to stick out more than I'd expect. Probably partly due to the design of the wheels, the spkes are thicker at the hub than they are at the outside of the rims, so they look very wide and squat. Put it this way, if I put these wheels on I don't think I'll be lowering the car, ever! I've taken some pictures on my phone, I'll upload them later. Anybody reckon the additional width could put any nasty stress on suspension components or wheel bearings???

No.

Putting wheels with an offset is no problemo, because the actual wheel is set in correctly. Putting spacers in messes up your wheel bearings over time, because of the stress they put they put on them keeping that wheel out.

I hope you understood what I meant :D

This was the advice I was given...don't put spacers, get rims with an offset.

Good good. Attached are the example pics. What do you reckon, do they suit the car and do they stick out too far?

PS, audi badges will probably be substituted in due course for skoda badges :)

They look very nice

Got any shots of the whole car side on?

Once you drop the car it will look splendid. Now it loks kind of weird.

:)

Isn't it against some kind of law to have the wheels stick out further than the arches?

Looks nice though.

Nope, I only put the one wheel on to make sure it would fit!!! :D

I believe the arch must cover the tyre tread - which with the 225 width tyres on, it doesn't. 205s might be OK, I think to be on the safe side I might need to get 5mm milled off the inside of the wheel so that the offset is the same as the standard skoda wheels, and they sit in the right place...

You seem to be going to a lot of trouble to do it well, so I reckon it'll look mint. I'm still trying to find a really nice set of White 17" 's for mine, and I'm giving up hope now. Found a gorgeous Enkei set, but they only do the fitment for Evo's. I hate them! :finger:

Find any nice 17" in any colour, and get them powder coated, will be your best bet
