Bye Bye MK1, it's been emotional.

Well I've taken the plunge and picked up my MK2 VRS Estate on Friday, I got offered a deal I couldn't refuse and even though I absoloutley loved my Mk1, I traded it in.

With doing less miles, I could'nt justify the diesel anymore, plus I need the extra room of the estate for my hobbies ;-)

It's my mini RS 6 ;-p

I started this thread as I want to give you guys the heads up about my MK1, I traded it into a Skoda dealership in Warrington and they will probably take it to auction.

I can honsetly vouch that it was a mint example for a MK1, it's a late 07 with 72,000 on the clock. 312mm brake upgrade and was remapped not so long ago. recent major service and MOT. Perfect paint and the interior was in tip top condition.

Why am I saying this? Well I don't want my old car to fall into the wrong hands! So if any of you chaps are in the market for a MK1 VRS or know anybody who is and you can find my old car then I can honsetly say my old car was a gudden'! :-)

It's reg is MV07WBF.

Obviously I have no idea where the car will end up, or what will happen to it next. But I loved it so much that I now feel I need to try and help make sure it goes to a good home!

Thank you old car, you were a beaut and served me perfectly :-)

Thank you MK1 forum, you have been amazing, not sure I'm going to spend too much time in the MK2 Forum, they seem a little dull and all they do is compare Oil consumption!!! :wall:

Your old car looks like a good 'un.....too good to auction!

If they don't sell it themselves, I imagine the dealer will trade sell it to a non franchised (used car lot type) garage......so it'll probably end up on autotrader in the near future!

Tidy. You went for Mk2 for the same reason I did. Wanted petrol and needed a nice big boot for fishing gear and good long roof for a kayak

We are not all dull on the MK II forum I will have you know :giggle:

Hope you enjoy your car, I went the long way around for petrol in ours this morning, it was over 35 miles from st helens to st helens lol, I don't get to drive it much as I am always in the Yeti, so I dropped the wife in work and took it for a blast.

I suspect your MK I might stay at the dealer, Mitchells had two blue MK I's from somebody on here and they have both on there sales list.

Might see you around.

haha! :giggle: Only joking! I think I am going to float between the two... between turbo worries on here and oil worries on there, got to love it! :-D

Cheers guys! I am already prefering the look of it to my MK1 already, and actually I prefer the estate to the Hatch! Loving the bigger car feel, and I am hoping I will get less muppets trying to race me off the lights (I didn't give them what they wanted.... honest)

I can totally understand the the 'taking the long way round' as all I want to do is drive it! I cannot get over how easy to drive she is. I thought I'd be driving everywhere on the paddles (I want to be an F1 driver, lolsssss) but I've just been putting her in D and cruising :sun:

No Rattles,

No Smoke,

No White Seats,

No Taxi Soundtack.

But not as much character....... yet.

I hope I do see my old girl on the forcecourt soon. I've got email reminders setup on Auto trader and Ebay already ;-)

Well I went into the dealership yesterday to pick up my MDI cable and I saw my old car looking proud on the forecourt! The wheels have been refurbished and she has been machine polished! Looked awesome!

They have put her up for 6850!

So if anyone wants a decent MK1 VRS with 312mm brakes and Stage 1 Map, get down to Lightcliffe skoda in Warrington! !

:D

Very true! But they gave me a healthy trade in price so I guess they need to recoup some monies ;-)

Obviously it doesn't matter to me if it sells or not, but my old MK1 is a beaut for it's age. No funny noises from the turbo, big brake upgrade, remap, top paint and wheels. And I always ran it on BP ultimate :-)

Screw it, I might sell my guitars and bikes and buy her back!!!!

Had a quick nosey this morning on my way out of Warrington - really nice looking car - no doubt some haggling to be done then someone will own a good un !!

Well thank you :-) ...... even though it's no longer mine! :p

I really hope that someone buys it and looks after it like I did, or even better is on brisky so I can read about someone enjoying it!

Well about Mv07wbf had this car for a while have to say it's a beast the car was bought for my dad who is 75yrs old  LOL. We bought it from a woman up north as she no longer needed it and I remember on the way back to Birmingham my dad was driving Mv07wbf. and I must say it put a smile on both mine and my dads face. I still remember my dad got left behind on the motorway and I was checking my mirrors and then I saw this car coming in speed IT WAS MY DAD in the skoda it was like he was 19yrs old again LoL. I'm actually quite surprised when I saw this forum, that it had a remap we'll now thinking of no wonder it's so powerful.

Ahh that’s amazing! Thank you for sharing!

it was a great little car, certainly one that I regret selling to this day. It had a remap (by Awesome GTI) and larger front brakes, apart from that it was standard.

does he still have it?
