Pre wash technique

Featured Replies

A couple of questions if I may:

1. When using a Citrus Pre Wash, should I first pressure wash the car and therefore spray the Pre Wash onto a wet car, or is it best to spray onto a dry dirty car?

2. Once I have used the Citrus Pre Wash and rinsed it off, would snow foaming the car be a good idea or just a waste of time (both doing the same thing)?

Many thanks.

Mike.

I'll be interested to know too. I jetwash the lower half of mine 1st then snowfoam. This works for me because my 2 BM rinse bucket is always clean and my microfibre mit is never that dirty so knowing what others find best will be useful.

1. its really up to you, but personally i spray onto the car covering everything, wheel arches, wheels etc leave it for 2-4 mins then power wash of thoroughly.

2. Again its up to you but i sometimes fill my bottle up with car shampoo then foam the car with it and then wash the car with my usual two bucket method, i find the extra foam gives that little help with lubrication especially this time of year.

Just to be clear...do you spray the Citrus Pre Wash onto your dry dirty car?

Spray on a DRY car Mike

Leave a few minutes, then pressure wash

Then Snow Foam and rinse

Then TBM and rinse

Sounds good to me.

Thanks, Chris.

I spray it along the rear bumper, arches and lower door, and on the badges. as it dwells I use a swissvax style brush to agitate the dirt in the badges. I then snow foam and do all the grooves whilst the foam is doing its stuff. Leaves me with pretty good results.

Just a main thought, always clean the wheels first.

Spray bilberry, spray off with a pressure washer.

Re-spray and agitate, spray off.

Drive forward so the bottom half of your wheels are at the top, Re-spray and agitate, spray off.

you WASH your car in this weather? :o

I find it sticks much better on a dry car getting more dwell time.

you WASH your car in this weather? :o

Of course

Washed mine on Sunday. Water froze the doors shut and turned the drive into an ice rink. Car covered on salt a day later :(

This is why we look at the weather forecast for the next couple of days prior to washing ;)
