Track day novice any pointers?

Who did you use for the track day insurance?

Who did you use for the track day insurance?

I used Moris:

I also opted for the excess insurance at an extra £14 ish which saved me £750

Insuring your car for £95 per track-day may seam expensive but my £2137 saving is 22.5 track-days worth of insurance. And that was only a minor bump, if I'd have tried to steer and gone into the wall sideways that would have been a write off.

Hi,

If anyone needs any help with track day insurance then please feel free to drop me a line. I'd be only too pleased to help out.

Regards,

Dan.

For a mk1 fab, unless you've got a rear arb, I find a bit of weight in the boot actually improves the handling. When I did a track day, I put my spare and spare spare back in and it took the twitchiness away.

Tips

Listen in the briefing

Do the siting laps

Take the tuition

Don't spend too long out without cooling the car off

Don't be a nob

For those reading this thread. I can assure you that as stated above going in tight then lifting off of the throttle and slinging the back out will not if its your first track day be in any way fun !!!!!!

Yes it is! Just don't think you can do it on your first lap.

Console yourself in the fact it probably was for anyone watching.

Like getting me recovered back in was for everyone taking the **** when I did one.
