Featured Replies

Dad's spare wheel and toolkit arrived yesterday;

Arranged with dealer when he bought the car that a spare wheel would be supplied in place of the tyre inflator and gunk.

Best way to go, not a fan of the squirt and go stuff.

Good choice!

As above, I'm not a fan of gunk. I have the spare wheel on mine.

sensible move . advise anyone buying any new car to make sure there's a sparewheel and toolkit. aerosol can not much good if there's a cut in the sidewall for instance

Well done, best choice and very good value!

Silly question does it affect fuel consumption having that little bit of extra weight?

Any extra weight will, so yes. Not that I tested mine with and/or without. Correct tyre pressure is probably something people should be more concerned about.

I haven't needed it, but I think I should have gone for the spare wheel option :)

I was wondering after seeing the spare wheel in post 1. Are there any different sizes in spare wheels on a Citigo? (maybe due to the different wheels fitted as standard)

My spare wheel has a Hankook Kontrol Kinergy Eco 165/70 R14 81T which looks bigger than the one above. I suppose they go with my Apus 5J/14 having Bridgestone Ecopia EP25 175/65/14 82T.

Part No. on the spare wheel sticker ZP5A 1ST 601 012 AJ & 1N0 601 011 AAG

Not much difference apart from the 10mm width as far as I can see from http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tirecalc.php?tires=165-70r14-175-65r14

I can check the tyre size on the spare tomorrow.

The tyre on the spare wheel is a Falken Sincera Ecorun 165/70 R14 81T. The steel wheel is a 5Jx14 ET35, partnumber stamped on the wheel is 1S0 601 027 G/J

The tyres on the car are Bridgestone Ecorun 175/65 R14 82T.

Same spare wheel and tyre as SimonJ, Falken Sincera Ecorun 165/70 R14 81T.

Tyres on car are Continental Contipremiumcontact 2 175/65 R14 82T.

Sounds like you just answered your own question...............

Many thanks for your replies.

I ended up buying one of these, which fits in the boot perfectly. It came complete with jack, wheel-brace and the plastic tray which hold these and the tools which came with the car.

Wow!

Glad I got the optional spare when I ordered my Elegance.....£50

Ouch on the price but I think I will end up going down the same route. I just wish I'd selected the option when we ordered the car.

I bought the car second-hand so didn't have the option of buying when new. It is an ex-demonstrator with just under 2000 miles. I got £1500 off list price so the extra cash for the spare wheel isn't a big deal.

Think yourselves lucky, I've had 2 punctures in 3 months lol.

1st was repairable so cost £20, 2nd (this week) wasn't, so new tyre at £58 because I wanted the exact same brand/tread pattern etc to match the other 3. Car just done 4500 miles.

Are the roads full of debris round your way? That's unlucky.

Can't say I've checked lol. First one was a screw, second was a rusty nail.
