Went for Smooth in the end

Featured Replies

Well as some of you may know my blackline got a bit of a prang some careless halfwhit decided to hit my car in the night (think it was the local scrap man in his flatbed van. Damage was not massive but enough to require a respray of the boot. Friend of mine did it on the cheap as a favour and i decided not to refit the badges and leave it smooth with the centre depression filled in. I like it and its much easier to wash & wax. Was a bit consearned people might think i debadged it to hide the fact its a skoda but they couldn't be further from truth as i take great pride in telling people i drive a skoda.

Like it, just a small fl vrs badge on the right would look great.

Probably a silly question but how do you fill in the depression?

Looks excellent respray job btw.

Well its not perfect if you look really close there are a few imperfections like a pin hole but you have to get really close and he did a brilliant job with fixing the dint which was the main thing. It was a bit of a pig because the impact has caused a crease on the fold lip above the number plate. Plus it didn't cost much so im over the moon with it. A coat of collinite 845 and its like glass.

Regards filling the depression i would imagine that they just used filler although i didn't ask. Hes the manager of coachworks so its a peice of **** for him to do i guess.

Looks very good in the flesh scribbler. Very good job your mate did.

Weld a peice of metal in, smooth, fill any low point with filler (bondo-America) lol. High build primer then paint. If you filled that hole with filler it would just crack and fall out.

Certainly not a job for my limited skills lol

Looks like he has done a top job.

Just watch out, I've got a suspicious mind so when I generally see a debadged car (as in your case) this strongly suggests that the car has had significant damage at the rear. This *may* be a problem in the future come tradein/resell.
