Wanting to take the plastic bump strips off of the side of my doors on my fabia, just wondering if it will need smoothing afterwards or are they just glued on? Has anyone done this themselves?

you mean bump strips?? I opened this tread thing O DEAR SIDESKIRTS

you can remove them handy enough but their were reports of corrosion under older models.. I removed mine when the car was 4 years old and had no problems.

But yes just a matter of pulling off and cleaning the residue off underneath.

Yeah mate I dd mean that, amended the post now, yeah mine is now 9 years old so I might be having a problem like that.
