fuel filter

Featured Replies

Hi everybody I own Octavia 1.9tdi pd with engine code BXE, Im looking to buy fuel filter or it. so started searching eurocarparts. but after entering Reg number results contains many filters with different dimensions. Please help which size I should get.

Try Opie oils, their search uses specific years too so may narrow down the choice for you.

Have a look at the filter housing, there may be a sticker on it that tells you the manufacturer eg mann hummel or ufi etc.Mine had a ufi sticker and a part no on it.

give your local dealer a ring as ask for a price etc

Not sure if its the same with skoda but when you buy honda filters off opie/ECP you get given a filter which is far bigger than the oem one meaning fitting is possible but not easy

+1 for ryan-re's advice. Filters are cheap, even from Skoda dealers, and if you deal locally rather by post, it'll be much easier to swap it for another.

Be careful when removing / replacing the cap as it is fairly easy to bend it if the cap doesn't come off easily.

And run a little fuel around the new seal before replacing the cap.

I know mine is a BKE engine, but it did have a UFI canister and I did get a new seal with the filter (maybe because I asked, I don't know).

Yes, there are three raised areas to lift the cap, but it is still easy to bend if the seal is tight and the cap doesn't come off easily.

Just a warning to exercise caution and not be ham fisted (like I was), that's all.

My ufi filter came with a new seal.
