I prefer my car too... but in places like the USA or Australia you don't really have a choice! (unless you ship your monster there too?!) :giggle:

Unless I can drive there myself tend to avoid going, not one for spending any time in a flying bean can if I can help it, despite spending years fixing flying machines.

Mind been to Nevada in turboprp RAF Hercules, which was interesting to say the least, no comforts of a 747 there :giggle: Had to night stop in Boston going and Gander coming back, that's how long it took

How many times have you inadvertently indicated when you tried to just cancel or set the CC on a Yeti?

Never (honestly) in two and a half years of ownership. And I use cruise control pretty much every day on my journeys to and from work. I especially like the way you can set it just by tapping the "-" button on the end of the stalk.

I'm perfectly willing to believe that other arrangements of the controls may have advantages, but I really don't have any problem with the way it's done on the Yeti.

But back OT: Lepidocricite: have you tried the Park Assist yet? :giggle:

Note sure if our (2nd hand) YETI has PA - genuinely not looked yet; we have front and rear sensors so its possible. However the parking sensors are so good do you really need PA?

No thats not fair: I live in London - reverse parking is something you have to do pretty much every time you park.

YIKES!!!!!!! And in all the years of driving I can also tell you that is the last thing to do on a motorway. You try to NEVER use your brake lights on a motorway as just one person touching theirs causes little ripple effects and tailbacks as everyone behind then also brakes... Please if you have a manual car press the clutch but not the brake.

But the only reason to disconnect cruise control is if you are slowing down, so a touch on the brakes is a good safety measure as it lets those following you know that you are slowing. BTW mine is an automatic.

Without cruise control you regulate your speed on a motorway with only your throttle pedal. Constant pressure to keep set speed, more to go faster and if you lift off you go slower. All WITHOUT your brake lights ever needing to come on. Yes of course should you need to slow down a lot I use my brakes. Goes without saying. But to use your brake pedal to switch the CC off for situations where you just really wanted to ease of the throttle (without using the brakes) is just wrong in my book. But each to their own.

Aren't most car these days drive by wire?

Sent using whatever device I'm using at the time.
