Hi all, bought my first Skoda on Sunday.

Octavia Vrs Tdi on a 12 plate from Dealer, good test drive, BIG step up in every way from my Fiat Grande Punto! Not totally unexpected to say the least, but totally what I wanted.

Just waiting for picking it up ASAP.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll enjoy your vRS, though you'll have to watch your speed more than in the Punto. Cruise control helps!

Thanks, you're right about the speed, test drive showed us that, lack of noise compared to Punto in particular, as well as ride comfort etc etc etc

They're brilliant on a long run and make for a real effortless mile cruncher and it's easy peasy to maintain a good average speed without too much yo yoing due to the torque available AND get decent fuel consumption, you'll just need to keep an eye on the speedo though. Tyre noise can be a prob on some surfaces, but others have identified the conti tyres as being the main culprit, though I just take it as part of the package. You'll be grinning each time you drive it!
