What to check for on 07 plate vrs diesel

Featured Replies

Just bought an 07 plate vrs diesel with just over 100k on the clock. When I travel down to pick it up is there anything I should check for or pay particular attention to.

It has rear parking sensors, xenon headlights and factory fitted sat nav. Although not sure which system it is.

Thanks in advance

Check its had the Injector recall carried out. Everything else as usuall.

if you have the reg you can ring any skoda dealer and they can check for injector recall. If its not had one they will do it foc.

If its got sat nav it will be the columbus unit

Airbag light is common and can be a right pig to fix.

Thanks for the reply Ryan. It's had the recall done.

Don't bet on it being the Columbus - my 57 plate vRS had the MFD2 fitted originally. It's an OK unit, but the Columbus is much, much better in almost every way. As already stated, the injector recall is the biggy. Also, find out when the cam belt was last changed. Plenty of threads on here about the variations in quoted times to change.

Make sure it drives smoothly clutch wise.Check to feel any shaking or judder in 1st,2nd & reverse.DMF problems are well documented on these.

Bubbling/rusting on sills just above the stone chip paint.

Wear on inner edges of rear tyres (hands and knees job don't just lean down).

HPI checked the car and it had finance on it which was annoying! Seemed like a decent motor as well. Had the "I'll pay the finance off when I get the money" line.
