Superb Taxi

Featured Replies

Had to happen I suppose.

I've seen plenty of Octavia Taxis, but my first (new) Superb today.

I guess that this would make a lot of sense for an owner-driver as its comfy, economical, solid and for passengers has a LOT more legroom in the back than the Octavia.

ps It was a silver one. Do they do it in white ? ;)

Went in a couple of Superb taxis when I was in Crete - much better in the back than the Octy and the Merc taxis!

Another benefit to the taxi driver with one of these is that they would be able to pick up "executive" jobs, which are financially more rewarding...

Rob.

wish they had them round here...

They all seem to be Toyota Carina's round my way...

Rob.

Dont even think of calling me or mine a Taxi...

Andy

dont worry all the taxi's are diesel.....

GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.............

Andy.......less than happy

Executive jobs are not more financially rewarding. For a start you're dealing with self important jumped up tw@ts who think they are far better than the low life behind the wheel! They are never on time, always on the phone, varying the route, and then telling you to get a move on. If you do a distance it is rare to have a job to 'bring you back' So you may have to return 100-200 miles empty. Run of the mill town work pays far better, with the meter on the go, and the next job around the corner. AND if you don't like the look of them, you leave them, and when picked up, if they argue or annoy, you chuck 'em out! I know I do it.

I stand corrected! :)

Skoda NL do a pre-fab taxi version of the Superb now - and the ball is starting to roll.

As you say, the Superb taxi was just the bleeding obvious thing to do.

I'd say nearly 3 out of 5 taxi's up here are Skodas. It's not unusual to see a rank made up of them outside the station! Superbs are now being used as well as the Octavia and I think I've seen more superbs with private hire plates than 'ordinary' road users!

One of our dealers here in the south manchester area was offering special finance on Superbs and promoting it as a package for private hire drivers. don't know what the uptake was like...

In the latest edition of the Private Hire and Taxi Monthly, Panda Motors (Swansea) are offering Superb 1.9 TDi classic 100 bhp for

Which is a little over

So are all Superbs used as taxis or do normal people actually buy them?

;)

I'd buy one and I'm normal... :p

Not the Audi A6 18.T I was behind yesterday, thought it was unusual choice for a taxi. I was having a good look at it cos it looks a lot my Superb, which is a diesel due to the milage I do.

Rob.

i wouldnt do that...? would i?

'course you would, though I think you should be exempt from voting as you're an even bigger weirdo... :p

:D

There are a few private Superb owners on the road, and fewer taxis. We have several chauffeur companies that have them for weddings etc., they are very popular.

But mainly it's the nobs at VAG HQ that have got them, the buggers...
