Air Con......any tips, it's not working!

Featured Replies

We're in Spain for another couple of weeks, it's been 27c today, pressed the air con button to chill the air and it didn't make a blind bit of difference

Any ideas, or is it a trip to an aircon specialist or to the dealer when we get back home.......the cars only 18 months old

Wow, thats pretty early for an air con fault. Dealer time under warranty then!!

Checked all the fuses for air con, do your radiator fans kick in when the air con is on?

Hi there, I've just looked the manual and it states in there to check the fuses, all the ones relating to aircon control other things as well, all of which are working.

Havnt checked the fans, I'll take a look in the morning, just had a few beers!!

Thanks

It's not unusual for the compressor to fail. When mine did in the vrs it took the aux belt with it meaning a ground to a halt after 30 miles or so.

Pop the bonnet and it's right behind the drivers headlight (at least it was on my cr170). If you sew a pin sticking out the side it's goosed.

I've done about 300 miles since finding it doesn't work.

Aux belt is good and taut and looks fine, no pins I can see sticking out of the compressor
