hi all went to start my car today and the car starts but the key doesnt flick back and the starter keeps turning so i have to turn the key back do i need a new barrel or is there an easy fix cheers.

yeh it's fairly common, it's either the barrel or the switch block itself, the switch block seperates from the barrel...

sadly you can only buy a complete lock set from skoda now rather than just buying an individual igniton barrel on it's own

i found this out when i converted my car the donnor car barrel had snaped and was cut off column had to stick screwdriver in the switch block felt like i had stole it driving it home made shore i had a receipt in case i got stopped.

i think the problem might be a spring or maybe a plastig lug hat has worn, can i get access to this part of the mechanism to check or is a sealed unit thanks.
