Skoda Book

Featured Replies

Just received a copy of, The True Story of Skoda by Dave Randle as a belated birthday gift. Seems to be a well researched and informed read so far.

Not too many colour photo's but then that's just a minor gripe,all-in-all maybe a good buy for all you Skoda-heads out there (as long as you don't mind SWMBO shaking her head and calling you, 'Saddo!' everytime you pick it up!)

Definately worth the 8 quid, the early days in particular are very interesting. A good overall read and I can honestly say I know a good deal more about the cars and the brand itself after a read of this.

Thanks Hugh, I'll put it on my private :xmas: list then...

I got that book for my birthday too. Have found it to be a good read and very informative! Would definitely reccomend it to anyone with a slight interest in Skoda's history. :)

Wow, I got that book for my birthday as well.

Very good, informative, good pictures too.

Old 110R coupes and Rapids are really cool.

It's amazing what people get you when you own a Skoda. You don't get them buying you books on Ford if you own a Focus or anything! :D

lol

How true, don't have any VW history or Golf GTi books (only cars I've had worth having a book on except the Skoda) in my collection. Must be something to do with folk thinking that because we are Skoda owners they think, 'he's a bit different/ a total nutter, I'll get him a book to match the car, poor guy!' or something like that.............

It's now on sale at Mill House for 7.99' date=' so quite a bit cheaper compared to the usual Internet bookshops.

Is it any good? Is it worth the 8 quid?

Have got it now - I'd say yes, it's worth it - anyone interested in the pre-VAG era should get it and be educated. The book was written by an enthusiast and contains a lot of input from the Skoda Owners Club UK.

I just tried to order but was unable to input my full postcode (there wasn't space for the last 2 letters), there is no field to input county, and you have to input credit card details to find out that postage is

Hmm, typical...

Funny how it has no trouble excepting a Dutch postcode! (Methinks a friendly e-mail to the folks at Mill House seems in order.)

Being an overseas customer and buying books from Mill House in stacks (mostly on Grand Prix racing), I'm used to
