so as not to blow to my workmates

Pardon

Now that all the High Oil users are getting new or rebuilt engines

and the modified ones are being put back to standard and sold on,

we can put that Oil usage posts into the past.

Now its maybe time for more posts on,

correct spark plugs and gap settings, and will any original ones ever last to 40,000 miles.

george

who is putting there vrs back to standard? never read that mate.

Sy is and he's selling it for a Roomster.

Thats not a bad thing, people move on and get other cars.

The Twincharger ownership is a bit of a lottery and one out of Manufacturers warranty will be a liability or worry.

I have not heard of any of the early cars that had Rebuilt engines with replacement piston rings being faulty

or having high oil usage.

In my case this car was only ever meant to be a stop gap car to use for about 18 months as I was out the country so often that I couldnt justify the extra costs of a higher powered more expensive car for such little use. Ive been talking of getting rid for over a year now, but keep changing my mind, this was the case even before the piston failures as you can see in my build thread. I have a love hate relationship with this car. The catalyst for me making this final call to strip down and sell wasnt oil burning or piston issues as i have much stronger forged pistons now, so thats not a worry to me. My worry is that the steering rack has failed with such little usage for what it would have been exposed to if I had of been in the UK more frequently.

Sorry OT,

Have you driven the road across from Carrbridge to Ferness on the way to the coast yet?

george

EDIT., My sisters in Nairn, its the only road i take other than if coming in from Fochabers,

or by Grantown on Spey if the gates are closed.

eg, B9007

No, only the A9 and A96 when driving past there. My vRS still hasnt made it this far north. I had the Golf R up here for a few weeks though

Lol ;)

If the wife didn't mind I'd mod the rapid - lowered slightly, led drl's and spoiler etc. alas not going to happen unless I buy her a citi-go.

Ask Bosssfox, I heard he's working on a Citigo of sorts, perhaps he'd willing to sell it to your wife ;):D

Jabozumo made a simple typo 9 instead of 8. thats all.

Blame sausage fingers or sneaky Freudism :). Now I have to find a dyno showing my motor developing said 190ponies. Some race tuners write that can see 10% power increase in engines which were properly run in so in theory I might be right ;). But yes, I edited it - wonder why is it not showing as being edited?

I doubt the misses will want a 450bhp citi-go to take out new born (due June) out in :)

No problem, if she absolutely insists give in and let her use the Rapid, allowing you to 'slum it' in the Citigo :)

If she doesn't like it I happen to own one very pratical MK2 Fabia vRS without any thirst for oil and would let you twist my arm to swap it for that Citigo ;)
