Finally Ordered

Featured Replies

I joined Briskoda 3 months ago to help me decide what me next car should. 84 posts later, I should like to say thanks for the friendly help and advice provided here - it's a great community.

So... I have finally decided on a spec and placed the order with our leasing company. The dealer was talking about a 14 week lead time, which would mean I would have it by the end of July - so my current car will be extended by a couple of weeks. And the verdict is:

Octavia Estate 2.0 TDI 150PS Elegance

Metallic paint - Steel Grey

Full Leather upholstery - Beige

Winter Pack

Temporary spare wheel

KESSY - Keyless entry and start system

Columbus satellite navigation over Amundsen

Chrome Window Surround

Roof Rail, Silver

That picture at the back of the Hatch brochure has a lot to answer for... Except of course, mine will be on stilts!

Congrats mate, nice spec, enjoyed your journey to making a decision. Second the Briskoda sentiments; a great site!

This is the only time I've been tempted by a non-vRS Octavia, that looks stunning. Enjoy.

It does look nice, but as you say will be on stilts, why in their videos and literature do they show cars that sit just right while in realty you can get a clenched fist between the tyre and wheel arch

Juniperz, fantastic choice (as we have already discussed elsewhere!). Your new car will look absolutely stunning and you have chosen some great options.

I have Columbus on mine, and it is fantastic. It may not have the mapping of some of the more recent portable navs, but it's great to have decent maps (that you can change from 2D to 3D and zoom in and out at will) at your fingertips without sticking stuff to your windscreen and having wires everywhere. Add to that the SD card ability and Bluetooth music streaming too, and you have an excellent all round solution. And yours will be the new version!

Looking forward to seeing your pics in July. Enjoy it! Oh, and you could always lower it slightly if the 'on stilts' look offends too much!

Cheers, Dunc

Edit: one last thing, what does the Winter Pack comprise of?

Thanks for all the supportive comments - will be sure to post pics, though July seems a long time to wait...

Oh, and you could always lower it slightly if the 'on stilts' look offends too much!

So what is the aftermarket solution to remove stilts and (most importantly) not degrade the ride??

Edit: one last thing, what does the Winter Pack comprise of?

Heated Windscreen, Heated Seats & Heated Washer Nozzles. I think you could have them separately too, at £200, £200 and £30 respectively, though if you select one in the Configurator, it seems to force you to pick the others too (Seats alone is OK).

The experts will be along I'm sure!

Interesting. Think I read on here, now that you say that, that you have to order the whole lot as a package.

Will Skoda offer the Eibach kit, same as the MkII?

Great that so many have ordered the new octy I have ordered mine on the 15th March 2.0TDi DSG with Bi Xenon and in race blue, but as yet had no confirmation of a build date. Anyone got a build date when ordered on the launch weekend?

Very nice, I'm thinking of trading in my superb elegance for a fully species one of these , I'm waiting till I see the VRs version thought.before I decide.

There were a number of options I didn't select on the Superb that I regretted not getting so I may chop in for one of these.

Opted out of comany car scheme this time so had to finance full amount this time as did not want to stump up for a deposit, so had to be a little carefull with options. If money was no object would have prob added columbus, led rears and xenons, not fussed about full leather though so won't miss that. I could have extended lease a few months but I think the vRS would also be out of my price range this time so decided to go for it anyway rather than waiting a few more months and hoping for a bit more mpg as it seems the Octy III has been on a diet! :giggle:
