16" Wheels & Tyres - will these fit?

Featured Replies

Looking at some different wheels/tyres for my forthcoming Citigo 75 5Dr.

Seem to be a lot of different views/threads on what is/is not correct fitment.

Can anyone please answer the question "will this combo fit , in terms of PCD etc. and without tyres rubbing on suspension etc?"

Wheels: 7 x 16 ET35 4/100: 114.3

Tyres: 195/45 R16

Thanks

The closest stock size to that is the 16" option obviously, which is:

185/50/16 tyres on 6Jx16 rim, offset is 43.

So your rim is an inch wider and offset by 8mm less. Meaning it should stick out around 5mm more and inwards around 21mm more.

I can't personally see that being a problem, but can't guarantee that it will be OK.

The overall rolling radius is about the same, which is where the majority of issues occurs.

Just check there is none of the car within an inch of the back of the rim, as it'll be filling that space.

Also the thinner rims do have an offset of 35, so can't see any loading problems there either.

Hope this helps.

Mine are 7Jx15 ET37 with 185/55/15.

They rub on the inside of the wheel arch, when I turn fully to the right but not left - nothing major...

Danish law states that the rolling radius cannot differ more that 3% from the car's standard wheels. Wheels / alloys may not stick out farther than the wheel arch sides.

I'm sure there are similar rules in the UK - generally it's a pain to figure out :(

Not illegal for the rolling circumference to be way out in the UK, but the wheel arch is the same

My car is lowered approx. 30 mm and wheels are 7x16ET37 with 195/45R16 tyres. No probs at all...

A little dirty but otherwise good looking car :)

How's the ride? You must have gotten a harder ride that only travels on good tarmac?

Thanks, I'm trying my best to keep it clean but it's always dirty... :wonder:

You don't know Finnish roads after winter, they are awful condition :). The ride was and still is much better than I expected. Feels like a karting car, the driving characteristics are excellent. Suspension works just fine, without any problems even in the worst frost damages. IMO, There is also enough comfort left.

I've worked and driven in Tampere more times than I care to remember and have to agree about the roads. Those studded winter tyres knock the hell out of them, especially at traffic lights and junctions. My friend Jarri always says that there are only two seasons in Finland. Winter and roadworks!!
