Yellow do I go there?

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a replacement vrs estate as mine was unfortunately written off by a lorry.

Really want parking sensors (again) and leather cos of the kids, oh and the face lift model cos I'm greedy but the only decent mileage (<60k) one I can find in budget (11k) is yellow !!

Do I go there ?? Can someone convince me ??

Yeah race blue looks good on it as well but it is common as muck (downside of it looking so good) but at least with a yellow one you are being individual unless your brimma and have a black and gold o

LOL was the mrs idea actually and she'll be driving it 80% of the time....... Still I'm not convinced, shame it's 170 miles away as I'd go and see it just to rule it out

You must do it. There are too many race blues, white, anthracite or any other boring colour (race blue/white/anthracite excepted) you can think of out there and only a handful of yellows. Just think of the exclusivity and if car washing/detailing is your thing.... Ask Auric or Leon - they'll say the same.

Easily my favourite colour for the VRS. I'm crossing everything that the MK3 signature colour is yellow for the VRS, because I fully intend to hand over the cash to get a brand new one!

...a work colleague arrived at work one day in brand new yellow car......apparently he had left the colour choice to his son....(who was about 4 at the time).....owe how we laughed...many years on he still has it as he can't sell it.....'nough said.....

If youre keeping it long term and resale value/ease of sale doesnt bother you and you like it go for it.

Otherwise i'd say no as you'll probably struggle to sell privately and a dealer will pull your pants down on part ex as they'll know it will either sit on their forecourt for months losing them profit or they'll have to trade it on themselves.

Not a fan of the yellow on a vrs,i saw a green vrs in the flesh today & didnt like that colour either(shame as it looked good in the pictures id seen).

I got close to buying a loaded TSi DSG hatch ex-demo in green as the dealer had been trying to sell it for about 6 months and going by the price was getting a bit desperate to move it on.....at the time I was somewhat willing to overlook the colour on account of the very high spec of the car but fortunately enough for me the wife couldnt stand it and I think saved me from making a big mistake.

For me the colours just a little too light, never have like emerald green and thats pretty much what it is. Strange as it does look v good on the Fabia; just seems to look awful on the Octavia for some reason.

Do it. I regret not having picked a yellow car in the past, but remedied it with a Felicia Fun at about 200bhp less. Cool or uncool - who cares!

Well that just clears it up for me then !!!

knew it was a marmite colour :-)

Think I'll have to bite the bullet and see in the flesh

Cheers

What an absolute load of tosh

I trade in my yellow Octy Mk 1 vrs when i bought a new (white) one - It was sold by the dealer within 4 weeks

To the OP - i'd say do it. I would have had yellow again, but i fancied a change as i'd had that one 6 years, and i'll keep this one 6 years. I decided 12yrs with the same colour was too much..

Have you seen the picture of the Yellow Rapid in this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/272938-yellow-peril/ ?

I didn't like the look of the Radid until i saw that...

I always get good compliments, and my friends love the car. Generally people tend to let you out more, smile and wave too!

Thanks mate, no not from new, I'm the 2nd owner, me and my dad drove up to Lincoln to get it from Cornwall and at the time it was the best spec and colour available. If it wasn't yellow I'd have a Rallye Green one, I have no regrets choosing yellow, just needs a wash once a week!

I purchased it last september with 14k on the clock...I've done 10k extra already!

These pictures make me want a yellow vrs but i know that i would regret it after a few weeks. There was one sitting outside specialist cars aberdeen that they have had since christmas. I'm not sure if its still there but the colour just wouldn't agree with me.

Race blue is one of the other best colours to get! I think all the colours compliment the vRS nicely. I've only ever seen 1 other Sprint yellow MK2 on the road and thats in my home town down here.

I would, I just prefer black and gold too damn much :)
