New car (to me) 2008 VRS in Black

Featured Replies

First off, introduction :)

I have had Audi's for the last 8 or 9 years, S4, A3 and for the last 5 an A4 Sline Avant TDI, but with a final total of 153200 miles, it was time to say goodbye to it. I might have kept it a little longer, but this came up at a very good price.

So as of Saturday I became the owner of "Penny"

Black Estate 2008 VRS.

Done a few bits and pieces already -

New badges front and back (Fabia rear on order now)

Octavia badge delete

Put on my RS6 wheels as they give it a better stance and have matching tyres......

Black tailpipes

Still to do - new mats, black grill and top of high level brake light, new fog light (one broken) and get my Ipod working with the Parrot kit.

What else is an essential upgrade?

Ok, sorted that - stoopid photobucket :)

Its not mapped that i am aware of, and to be honest it doesnt feel like it (not enough torque)

Might be worth considering and there are plenty of threads on here relating to it- 210 easily achieved.

The other thing is has it had it's cambelt replaced? Mine getting done tomorrow as no history of it being done and i'm looking a remapping mine so a must before that happens!

Still, a nice motor mate enjoy

Congrats! Welcome to the forum also. Black is lovely, but you'll be cleaning it almost daily to keep it looking that tidy!

What made you go for the change?

Yeah, my last 3 cars have been remapped to various stages, so I think that'll be on the cards. I'm have to use the gears too much just now :giggle:

Oh and its had two timing belt changes in the last 20K, paper work for the 1st time was temporarily lost and they couldn't remember if it was done, so they did it again, then almost immediatly found the original paperwork :)

I can do 500+ miles a week sometimes, so I'm afraid it doesnt stay clean for long  , but this is my 4th black car in a row, so I'm kind of used to it....

To be honest, the main motovation for the change was the price, that and 3 years newer and 60 odd K less. I like VAG cars, so its got some familiar features with some new toys too :smirk:

One question though - do those ebay shark fin - ariel replacement things work? its only a matter of time before the ariel departs the roof due to my leccy garage door....

Welcome to the forum,im not a fan of the wheels :bandit: but its a nice tidy looking example.

On mine I've fitted an audi s-line gear knob, lowered suspension and Whiteline rarb. I'd do the knob and rarb again without a second thought on any new octy.

Hmm S- line gearknob, had a few of those on previous cars :) RARB sounds like a good plan though, whiteline the only seller or are there more options?

Cheers
