How can I tell if my new Citigo is actually on the Autoprestige?

Featured Replies

Car was supposedly built in Bratislava on April 10th then arrived in Emden on 17th April. The Autoprestige sailed from Emden late on Sunday afternoon (21st of April) and is due to arrive in Sheerness at noon today, Monday 22nd April. I suppose it all depends on how long the cars actually lie in Emden, how many they can store on the keyside there and how many the ship can hold etc. Perhaps my car could be on the next ship from Emden in a few days time, if it's not on this one.

CheckPoint 8: 12/04/2013

Age from build: 0007

At Port of Exit: 17/04/2013

Port UK: 40002

Current Location.: 40101 (Presumably Emden)

Next Location.: 40002 (Presumably Sheerness)

You Wil lnot be able to get info if your vehicle is on the vessel.

Your dealer will be able to let you know if it was 24 hrs. after docking, but will most likely not be able to confirm delivery date to them.

As to lying at Emden before shipping, my Superb Elegance L&K was on the docks for 3 weeks.

THREE WEEKS?? Aaaaaaaargh!

Thank you for the info Spectrum. Still, it's interesting to check the tracks of the various vessels even if my car is still languishing on the Emden dockside.

Here's a wild guess but you're a detective aren't you?! That is some serious research and I am blown away. I have been trying to console myself with thinking that 'the best things come to those who wait' and 'patience is a virtue'. Clearly the people who thought up those sayings never had a new Citigo on order!!

Mine should be trundling down the production line this week................ I just wish it would get a bl**dy move on! :wall:

Sod's Law will probably dictate that you have your Citigo before I have mine despite my two week lead over you at this juncture. The race is on! :)

Yes, I'm a bumbling detective, clutching at every red herring that swims past. The UECC run Autoprestige is on it's way back to Emden after disgorging its load at Sheerness this afternoon. The KESS run Weser Highway is tied up in Emden at this juncture but it will be sailing to arrive in Grimbsy (not Sheerness) late on Wednesday afternoon.

Every little helps!

Where did I hear that before? :giggle:

Got told the build week for mine was last week. How did you find out all of this info?

Hi William - The dealer gave me some information and I filled in the gaps. :hi:

Whoopee! The car IS on the UECC run Autoprestige.

My Candy White, Skoda Citigo Elegance 75PS Greentech is on the Autoprestige as we speak and the ship will be docking in Sheerness this very afternoon (Wednesday 24th April) circa 4pm, depending on traffic and seaworks etc. B)

Now I'm just more than a little disappointed to hear that my Week 15 built car will have missed out on the Week 22 build update rumours, such as heated windscreen, climate control and new PID etc. :@

I suspect the first two of those will be chargeable options anyway.

My guess is that the updates will be part of model year 2014 coming in June / July. First delivery of a 2014 model will probably not be before August or September - feel like waiting that long? :)

Would be surprised to see heated windscreen on Citigo as the car only takes minutes to warm up anyway. But stranger things have happened !!

Plus if you waited for everything that 'might' appear in the future, you would never order a car LOL.

Yes guys, you're absolutely correct of course. There's never really a good time to buy, as something else is always just around the corner or the year is changing or the registration is changing, not to mention a price increase. I'm sure I can slum it with a can of de-icer in 7 months time and hopefully the 2014 car won't look too different to the present model. I'm sure I'll be very happy with the Citigo I've ordered and no, I'm not going to cancel this one and wait another 10 or 11 weeks for the 2014 car. Mind you, I could have a 63 reg if I waited till September ............................... :giggle:

Just as well I don't travel up to London very often. I ordered the Greentech version so that amongst other benefits, I'd not have to pay the London Congestion Charge. However, from 1st July this year, the threshold for exemption from the London Congestion Charge will be reduced from 100g/km to 75g/km. :wonder: I hope Brighton & Hove City Council don't do something similar with the 50% reduction for Resident Parking Permits (for low emission vehicles under 120g/km of CO2) or I'll be really miffed.

75 for London? Wow, I don't suppose there's many vehicles which achieve that. Pretty surprising from Boris/The Tories who I assume were opposed to the congestion charge in the first place.

You'll have to swap it for a Cit-e-go in a few years time :)

I think it would be pushing it to reach Central London in an electric car far less return to the south coast without a re-charge. Who on earth wants to drive up the A23/M23 at 45mph to conserve electrical power? I think there will always be that nagging "I hope this thing doesn't go flat!" doubt with electric only vehicles? :whew:

Stands to reason I suppose. There are so many cars available that are exempt that they are on to a loser financially. How do you change that? Aha, move the goal posts and lower it still further!

Hopefully it will have 5-doors and be the colour/spec I ordered and left the £500 deposit for on Saturday 16th February. I suspect that the order actually went in on Monday 18th February.

I popped over to the dealer at 10am this morning (Wednesday 1st May) and it's all looking good, as far as I can see, with the car in its raw state, just unloaded from the transporter. Because I only had a few minute to spare today, I'm going over again tomorrow morning (Thursday 2nd May) to sign all the forms and to pay for the car.

All went very well today and I arrived to collect the new car at noon, as arranged. After taking a few pics of the old car and the new Citigo together, I was driving back to Brighton & Hove at 12.50pm. I've already fitted the LED day running/sidelight bulbs, the Osram Night Breaker "Limited Gold Edition" Plus H4 headlamp bulbs plus two of those magnetic LED light inside the boot. Tomorrow will be the front mudflaps and next week I'll fit the rear ones when they arrive from VW. Pics to follow in the gallery sometime next week when the bank holiday influx has returned home again.
