How can I tell if my new Citigo is actually on the Autoprestige?

Hi Jimmy

I hope you like cleaning the car as the back on my wife's white SE is always dirty after just a few miles of driving. Enjoy

It's filthy already and I haven't been anywhere yet! Bit of an exaggeration but it rained this morning and that brought all sorts of stuff down from the trees so I'd better go out with the watering can to get rid of it. 30 minutes after collecting it, I parked right opposite Hove Town Hall to change the Resident Parking Permit (£54 cost is half price for low emissions vehicles under 120gm/km of CO2) where I had to wait at least 45 minutes in the queue. When I came out, some lovely birds had suffered terrible incontinence and Candy White had suddenly become Dungy Brown. Luckily, it was soft, fresh, smelly, gooey and thick so the dollops came off relatively easily and it didn't seem to have any grit in it so that was a bonus too.

Not great pics but the LED DRL bulbs are really white/bright compared to the normal ones. I can't actually remember if these pics are showing the sidelights or the day running ones but the colour contrast is pretty clear.

It doesn't look very shiny in the pic below but it is!

I have Osram Night Breaker Plus fitted and will add them as fog lights too (HB4 version). They have a nice and bright white light.

I have tried different LEDs for DRLs but ended up with 'normal' white MTEC bulbs. The LEDs seem to stick out too far for the light to reflect off the lamp 'dish' which must loose light intensity.

I tried to change the fog lights myself also but the 'expansion screw' under the front bumper is not coming out. Anybody know how those screws 'work'?

I also fitted a pair of Osram Night Breaker, Limited Edition, Gold Dipped, Plus bulbs at the same time. I bought fake(?) blue DRL bulbs, genuine Polarg M-13 ones imported from the US, and a pair of MTEC T20s, so I have plenty to choose from there! :giggle: Perhaps I'll experiment as they are pretty easy to access. I also bought MTEC MT443 Super White H4s for the fog lights so doubtless I'll come across the problem you're having with the "expansion screw" too. Front mud flaps to be fitted tomorrow (Sunday) but I'll have to wait for the dealer to tell me when the VW up! rear mud flaps arrive with them. Even though the front/rear mudflaps were arranged in February, it took till May before they told me that Skoda didn't do them for the Citigo. I have a pair of the magnetic boot lights but I now need to source a nice set of mats and that should be about it I think.

These are the LED DRL bulbs I fitted. I've tried to (badly) remove the supplying company's name.

I fitted my front mudflaps this morning (I found MickA's guide - see URL below - very useful indeed - thank you MickA ) in the lovely Hove sunshine but it was a job that would be easier second time around because I know all the things not to do. The Skoda instructions were picture only and a little difficult to decipher.

I too found the plastic expanding rivets a bit of a mystery but I think you just turn them half a turn then pull them out. However they were very awkward to get at to see exactly how they worked so I just changed my two fog lamp bulbs without removing them at all. See pic below.

I did NOT remove the wheels to fit either the foglamp bulbs or the front mud faps.

Car looks lovely!

I know how you feel regarding bird droppings, i parked mine under a tree last week and there was a MASSIVE SPLODGE on my windscreen. It had dried up in the sunshine so the wash/wipe wasn't very effective - made driving home rather interesting....

When i did get home i told the budgerigar of, he should tell his mates not to drop their guts on Skodas!

Thank you, all compliments are gratefully received. :giggle:

I even rushed out and bought a box of 10 AutoGlym "Bird Dropping Wipes" at for about £5.50 so I hope they work well at 55p each.

if they are like the autoglym glass cleaner they should

tried the glass cleaner for first time last night, and that stuff is magic compared to all the others I have tries,

cleaned perfectly, not a single smear and whole screen done in a couple of minutes and shocked at the amount of dirt that came off

Guess I have to try again. I didn't feel there was enough space with those expanding rivets still in. I tried the half turn and pull but couldn't get them out...

Loving the mods JimmyR! I think a trip to Dealextreme for some LED lights is in order. They should arrive about the same time as my car!!

Surely your new bulbs won't take 10 days to arrive?? I'm sure your Citigo is in transit across the North Sea right now! :sun:

I hope you're right about the being in transit!!

Stuff from Dealetreme comes from China/ HongKong so it can take a while, but it is a very cheap place to buy gadgets.
