I think there is a website called bulbs direct or something, you put your reg in and it displays a front view and rear view of the car with the list of bulbs.

careful as some have the wrong bulbs listed and i think that some may list H7 when you need H4 if i remember right. what year and type is your fabia?

Yep. On cars with H4 bulbs the 2 bulbs are used as dipped + main beam m8.. there the big bulbs with 3 contacts.. H7s just have 2 contacts + use 2 bulbs for dip + another 2 for main beam

This site does a simular thing too: http://www.powerbulbs.com/ I've used them to buy bulbs and got brilliant service from them.

The type of bulbs is also mentioned in the owners manual.

yes but some sites ell you different, halfrauds guide books used to say h7 when it was h4, or other way round

If you want a list then:

For normal lights (non-Xenon)

Dipped: H7

Main: H3

Side: 501 (W5W)

Indicators: 581 (PY21W)

Fog: H3

repeater: 501A (coloured)

For Xenon:

Dipped: D2S

Main: H7

I'm sure you can look up the types for rear and interior lights.

The Fabia has never had H4 type. It's always bean 2 separate bulbs for dipped and main. The Mk2 has separate bulbs too.

As I said. For non xenon Main (also called High) beam is H3. Dipped (or low) beam is H7. Dipped stays on all the time, when main beam is used, (unless you flash lights when others are off).

2 guys in this thread have said that both dipped and main beam are H7 in the non xenon lights, now you say the main beam is H3..

I know I'm a miserable old sod, but these type of threads never cease to amaze me - and before anyone says it. "I know I don't have to read them!"

The car comes with a manual, read the f*cking thing - it is a mine of useful information.

If by chance the manual has been lost, stolen, mislaid or eaten by your dog / toddler, then a very handy link has been pinned at the top of the fabia forum page which has the link to Skoda site. Follow the link and the instructions and save a full pdf of the owners manual to your hard drive.
