ECU Tune / Remap Service

Featured Replies

Morning All, this forum has helped me get a new milltek so thought I would repay the favour, I've been looking at getting a remap but most are damn expensive, I used a company called Derby Remapping Services last week who offer Remaps tuned by Elite Remaps

Anyway more about my car :), I have just had it upped to approximately 240 bhp and it is bloody quick so I would recommend anyone who hasn't yet had a remap get one!

I have my millteks, upgrading DV on the weekend... What else do I need to do?

Remove details of potential group buy which breaches forum rules.

I wouldn't want a mobile mapper doing essentially stage 2 map on my car with no dyno time. The one thing I've learned from my short time with the 1.8T is that they need some careful tuning to get decent reliable power, and a good number of bolt ons to support. I think I'd rather stick to a decent known tuner with a dyno.

Re-reading that, are you saying all you have is an exhaust? What about a FMIC? Decat? TIP? These are all pretty much mandatory.

yes on stage 1, ie no supporting mods, it will be more like 210-220ish.

FMIC = Front Mounted Inter Cooler

TIP = Turbo Inlet Pipe

Thank you jonny - will look into them :) p.s. the remapper was recommended to me by a friend, I did some research before buying he is essentially a installer the maps are tuned by a chip tuning company called elite Remaps :)

We only charge £250 for a fully custom map on a 1.8T on standard injectors :)

Unless a lot has changed since I owned a modified 1.8T, a remap, even stage 2 won't get you to 240. I'm not trying to take anything away, the car will be faster and better.

Mine had about as much as could be done short of new turbo, so were talking intake, fmic, manifold spacer, fuel pump, downpipe, exhaust, turboinlet pipe, 99ron, timings other stuff I forget. It never got close to more than 220, maybe less, hey the less it did the less it cost to insure ;)

I guess I'm saying be happy, but forget the numbers, they are bleeding hard to verify, will never be repeatable. But you being happy and the car lasting is vital :)

Alot has changed, even quite recently.

However your closing sentence is very very true, and I personally didn't go looking for numbers, I just bolted the mods on and was happy with whatever numbers it would safely produce.

Yes Colin lots has changed and cars are pushing 240+

Infact the highest one to date has been 261bhp

But it has to have the supporting mods to get there

These figures have been proven on 4 different rollers and logged data:-)

But for 99% of cars and the mods they have 220 to 230 is about right for a stage 2

dont think the op has the supporting mods tho so looks like still a stage 1 car. So as colin said, numbers are just numbers, and another tuner telling people what they wanna hear by the looks of it.

Luca proven fact

But as said need supporting mods :-)

I'm sure the knowledge of people like nick at Rtech Simon at ecotech and bill at b5 have plenty of experience more than most and as they all have rolling roads and have proven that the new method of mapping is breaking the barriers down time after time !!!

Same as the k04 time ago 280 was dream figures now hitting 300bhp proven

All down to the right bits fitted

Time and time again people fit parts that in reality don't do alot !! Spk to the guys that know and have proven what works and you will not only have more power but would cost you less in the long run !!

no, i am not disagreeing with you, i know they can do those figures...but with the supporting mods. This car doesnt have the supporting mods afaik...ergo...exaggerated claims from the tuner

Yeah agree 100% as we know dude alot of people want big power by doing nowt lol

Dude you got a s3 strut brace ?

no sorry dude sold it already
