Exhaust Pressure Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi All

Had the engine management light come on the other day, engine had been running a bit rough, high idle etc. Since found out that it may have been trying to regen the dpf filter.

I have vcds and found this

As it was intermittent, I cleared the fault, light now off

But, last night getting near home the DPF light came on

I'm presuming the two are related. I've reasearched around the forums and have found that the sensor can be changed easy enough but it needs "adapting" or calibrating to the car. I can't seem to find the procedure to do this with vcds anywhere on the net. Anyone with any clues on how to go about this.

I gotta go to work this afternoon, so can I try a regen as I go or shouldn't I drive the car?

The car is an MY08 PD170 vrs

Get it in to get the EPS changed and they will either force a regen or take it out attached with computer to force it,

when out on the journey. Had exact same thing happen to mine. Don't drive too much with the car in the condition it is in.

Got it sorted now, changed eps £51 from stealer and did forced/emergency regen procedure on ross - tech wiki. Was a bit apprenhisive bout doin that tho' procedure reqs laptop plugged in whilst driving. My neighbour monitored the laptop, bit diconcerting when turbo inlet temp was reading over a 1000 deg C!! I'll try n post up a how to in the next few days

Glad you got it sorted in the end, you'll be surprised how hot the turbo inlet is during normal driving.

did you tell the ecu you fitted a new Pressure Sensor before starting the engine and doing the forced regen?

I hope so as I passed on the instructions on how to do this, without doing this the car will never be able to know how full or empty the DPF is and the end result could be totally clogged DPF.

Yes, I did do the esp adaptation. Dpf lite n flow plug n eng management lites on and still in limp mode. Went out couple of times aftet esp changed n tried to do normal regen , no good, but then bit the bullet to do the emergency regen. Got about 3 miles n glow plug light out, then another two or so then dpf light out m car out of limp mode. I cleared faults after esp change. Still alright so far! Thanx to everyone for their help!

Forgot to add, soot down to 0%
