I have been using Kumho's for the last 2.5 years on the Yeti, and 6 years before that on the Freelanders and have been very happy with them.

Currently have MICHELIN Primacy HP's on. Not my choice as they are quite expensive, - tyres are part of the lease deal with this car. Saying that I think the Dunlops that came with the car were slightly better.

Rainsports are supposed to be popular with some forum owners;

another lower priced option could be Barums, old Czech tyre company now part of the Conti empire

Our you could try Hankooks, they are factory fitted to some Skoda's and VW's and I've been very happy with their winter tyres.

Still have the original Dunlop SP Sport 01's fitted and done about 25K miles with about 3 mils

left on fronts and 5 mils left on rears.

Don't seem to have any real vices as wear well and evenly, low noise, and seem OK in the wet and dry.

Major premium brand tyres seem to centre around the £150-£170 mark per tyre fitted which I am assuming is due to them not being a popular, widely used tyre size.

I'm sure Skoda could spec a cheaper to source tyre size with similar characteristics if they so chose.

I don't think Skoda pay anywhere near the price for tyres you or I would pay

In the olden days the majority of tyre replacements were the same as tyres supplied with the new car. :evil:

The 225/50 R17 tyre size is a VAG parts bin item, hence I assume why the poor Yeti is lumbered with them as running shoes :giggle:
