just find sme high milage Fabia 1.2 would like to know if is good idea and if they are any probs with insurance or dvla after swap. As some maybe know the idea came cos my Fabia need a bit of attention but have low milage for age about 55000 miles. I'm on holiday now but any info or ideas let me know. Will be checking thanks for help and info.

If you're swapping like for like, then there should be no insurance implications, simply notify the DVLA.

just more info the milage is 130 000 miles with fsh, after 1 owner

Can you do it? Yes, would you do it without finding out exactly what's wrong with the old one? No. The 1.2 isn't the most reliable of engines if you do a search several owners have had big builds for rebuilds, swapping in an engine of unknown quality and history is going to be expensive and potentially introduce new issues.

Sorry for confusion I find a car with high milage for very good deal incl 6months warranty and I got Fabia with same engine but car need some work to be done but engine have low milage only 55000 miles on clock.

what I'm asking is if is worth to swap engines around and how much it can cost me to swap engines
