Vrs problem. Help

Featured Replies

Morning folks, on the way into work this morning my car has started playing up, it's a 2006 petrol octavia vrs. What it's doing is idling low about 600-700 rpm and sort of chugging away then it'll rev slowly upto 1500-2000 rpm, hold it there for a few seconds then drop back down, repeats when stood still.

When driving it seems fine.

Any idea please? I meant to be going away in it tomorrow morning for the bank holiday weekend!

Have the coil packs been replaced yet under recall

I haven't got the foggiest. I've only just brought the car a few months ago and wasn't aware of a recall!

Check out the service book, it should be detailed in there.

Thanks for the fast replies folks, very helpful. Is this a problem that will worsen if I do a long distance the weekend?

If it is that will get undrivable . Get them rung, will cost nothing

Booked in for new coils, although after speaking to a mechanic there he reckons my problem may be air flow related, either a meter or an air leak

I am sure they will do a free diagnostics, they usually do, and might find a hose gone, if you are pally with the mechanics they should find it for you , then a split hose is not much, if the car feels "flat" your diverter valve has a tear in it so wasting boost, a revision one is around £50 , whens the work being done?
