Before the ranting I should add the usual "this is heavily disguised" disclaimer....

What sort of camera did they use? Looks like something my old Nokia brick could have done.

These actually look ok but I still like the one I've got.

No way! Looks more like a Suzuki to me.

yes, that's what it's disguised as. Quite a good disguise compared to most test mules that are caught on camera IMO. :)

The spare wheel cover certainly looks like a Vitara one!

And it looks like the rear door is side hinged, especially with the handle where it is.

I have a suspicion that this might be the enlarged version specific to the Chinese market, from the size of the rear passenger doors.

You could well be right there.. and there was a previous spy shot of that one which also had the spare wheel on the rear door so maybe they're getting a side-hinged one.

Think the rear door is disguised to look like a Freelander.

Could this be the 7 seat version that's been rumoured for a while?

Aren't there 4 new model launches left this year? After accounting for the Octavia and vRS

A 7 seat Yeti is supposed to come at the same time as the facelift according to reports from CZ.

Other new models this year are the Superb FL, Yeti FL, Rapid Spaceback.

Whether it will come with 7 seats, I don't know, but I believe this will be a MY 2014 car and its project name is 'Snowman' (final name TBD)

I disagree with Graham - it's not specific to the Chinese market.

That looks like a Vitara.. its a no from me, I'll stick with what I've got for now and will look elsewhere when I need to change unless there is some major tweaking carried out on that lazy design.

Exactly, and I suspect that rear door handle and tyre case are dummies just to add to the disguise - I think the door will continue to open as it does at present.

I bet they had fun creating a GV including the Suzuki badges!! :p

It does look a little longer for some reason, not sure...it could just be the camo on it.

Yeah..Skoda also have changed their logo again to look just like the Suzuki logo too!

Pretty sure there is the remains of a Yeti under that lot; poor beast looks like she's been turned into Frankenstein's monster :'(

May have the new park assist as with the Octy III; possible sensor on the side of the rear bumper and the bonnet looks akin to the abortion grafted onto the facelift of the poor berb. Oh dear I do think they may have turned a swan to an ugly ducking but will reserve final judgement to when we get to see her without Vitara make-up.

Oh at first I thought China and it may well be but I don't think the reg number is right, any one recognise the plates country of origin.

Do we actuality think that because its got a suzuki badge on it, it has to be a suzuki... manufacturers have been disguising / misleading like this for years .

Mercedes used Cadillac badges on a early test car about 8 or 9 years ago.iirc.

surely not! !

We should not be disappointed. If the new Yeti comes out looking anything like this picture then the retained value of our current models will go through the roof.

It is a shame to lose the round fogs (the designer wanted to keep them but boardroom said no), but I do think they did a good job with the facelift Superb so am reasonably confident the Yeti facelift will look good too. It will still retain it's chunky looks whatever as they're not going to change the basic shape of the car.

i like these 3d mock ups of the current yeti with more square features than the more podgy round features of the current yeti

I don't claim that the Yeti is beautiful, but it is distinctive while so many are identikit -just looked at a Sportage but could you tell it apart from a dozen others?

I like a quirky looking vehicle-rather not have a bland one.

No I wouldn't say she's pretty but she does have a unique charm about her, that cannot be matched by anything else in the current Skoda line-up bar the Monte ;):giggle:

IMHO Skoda's current design team has lost it's way; corporate branding and penny pinching cost cuts have taken over the asylum.

When the Yeti gets turned into a G Wagon and the Fabia is fully replaced, it will be an end of an era for Skoda individual model design cues.

Been looking at the updates to the Fabia yesterday and felt disappointed; badges look like there made for Opel by Airfix and the new steering wheel leather feels like plastic compared to the old style VW leather coverings in the SM and Monte and again reminds me of the steering wheel we had in our 07 Corsa.

As I say though my take on it and most may disagree,

The new "design language" is nothing new though in terms of carrying cues across the range.. before the current regime all Skodas for example had the grille with the big chrome bar at the top. They all retain some individuality - think opinions may have been skewed a bit by the Rapid/Octavia as they are of a similar shape also.

Agree on the steering wheel leather though - the wheel on my Rapid doesn't feel as nice as the Roomster's did.

That isn't bad, but it is a shame the person who worked on the rendition couldn't have put a better wheel and tyre on the partly hidden front! And the interior is very "false".

Still keeps the Yeti "design concept" though.

skoda-yeti-10.jpg

Not bad. I'd cope with it.

I'm not even sure this is by the same "artist"!!

Wheels are silly; too small and not in ratio with each other.

Still got the "concept" though.

I'd go with #1 and #2 - the Yeti 'quirk' is still there. It's all speculation and rumour, though :notme:
