Looks great, works very well with the colour of your car. Glad they did a good job and you are happy.

Hi all.

I am planning on getting some tints for the rear windows of my Octy vRS done.

I have been researching Brisky and it seems the windows are already tinted to 30-35%. Therefore, should I only now put a 50% layer on as it will then bump it up to 80-85%?

I have checked with my insurer, Direct Line, and will have my excess increased and £28 added to my premium - including an admin charge. Seems reasonable but is this the norm for Direct Line?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

Does anybody know Esure's view on tints?

well as per my previous post

got my rear tints done today, excellent service and very happy with how they look, not too dark but not too light, opted for 20% Llumar film

Well I have finally got round to getting my tints done. Got the windows forms the B pillar back done for 170 sheets with a guarantee that will be be honoured so long as I keep the car.

Not sure on the % of the tint, however the guy said it was smoked glass (?) - he claimed it was the one that would be applied by manufacturers, basically one down (up?) from limo black.

Paul.

Don't forget to inform your insurance company.

aim waiting for my estate to come and i will be tinting the back i think it will be about 150.00 the lot

also having a rear spoiler fitted aswell

All sorted thanks Sippo. Unfortunately excess and premium has increased albeit thr premium just £30. Damn Direct Line!

Avoid Direct Line at renewal then

Why do you need to tell the Insurance it don't make it go faster or handle better it's for safety and stopping the sun getting in my daughter's eyes and keeping the car cooler in the summer when we have one ha ha.

Because it's a modification.

So you get penalised for being safe and more eco-friendly coz the tint keeps the car cooler that makes sense.

You don't get penalised by all insurers - more than don't as far as I know and I don't think Axa do either
