Can any of you top techy types tell me what the difference is between a 1.9 PS100 diesel and the VRS diesel is? Are there any bolt on bits that can be transfered from the VRS to a sytanfard TDI to improve power output?

P.S.Now I have a tuning box on my 1.9 TDI I cant stop the wheels spinning in the wet.

Any suggestions as to the best tyre to fit.

I think it's a different turbo with a different manifold and different injectors.

They can be swapped across but don;t htink it's a plug and play job and everythign woudl need remapping afterwards.

Tyres anything non budget should do the trick, Pirelli P Zero Neros, Conti Sport Contacts, Uniroyl RainSports all get good reviews

will depend on available sizing and your budget really

Although a lighter right foot might help ;)

Don't forget, the gearbox on the 130 is 6 speed, whereas the 100 is 5 speed.

To get 130 power from a 100pd u can swap all these parts + u will get it (bolt on)

Injectors

Metal intake pipe (down back of the engine)

Airbox lid + MAF sensor

Plastic intake pipe that joins the airbox to the metal intake pipe.

130 turbo.. either a kkk or the MUCH better garrett

All turbo pipes from turbo to intercooler

All turbo/intercooler pipes from intercooler to egr valve

130 intercooler and MAP sensor

130 egr valve and intake manifold

130 ecu (would need coding in)

If u fitted all the above bits u would be running exactly the same as a fabia vrs. Also instead of replacing the ECU with a 130 one + having to code it u could get your standard ECU re-mapped as if it was a 130 snd u would be running roughly 175bhp :)

Obviously the gearbox is a 5 speed but that makes no difference to the power.

My 150 arl runs a plastic intake pipe so doesnt necessarily have to be 'metal'

And the garrett 130 is no better than the kkk 130!

99% of fabias run the kkk so its believed the kkk is the poorer unit! As 99% of failures are kkk

Also the KKK 130 is renowned for being a weaker turbo compared to the Garrett 130. Nothing to do with fabias!!?? Turbo companys scrap them and only hybrid the STRONGER Garrett turbos..

Just cause it has garrett stamped doesnt make it invincible!

I horsed the living daylights out of a kkk mapped to the limit and it was perfect!

Its more to do with how the turbo's used

Owned 4 pd motors in various guises

Pd130 176bhp

Pd130 hybrid 220bhp

Pd130 big turbo 270bhp

Pd150 200bhp

Trolling and experience mainly! I was just commenting on your 'metal' statement not on pipe diameter! Some 150 arl's have a plastic intake pipe so material isnt really important

I wouldnt b bothered if it was the 1st time uv tried (and failed) to prove me wrong.. but its not :D

I dont post replys to tech questions because iv heard or read some story somewhere on the net.

My experience is real life experience ;).. iv worked on VAG cars for nearly ten years 8 at VW and 1 at Audi. As well as owning and modifying ALOT of pd and other diesel VAG cars.. iv also had dealings with Darkside and 2 dif. Turbo companys (where iv taken broken turbos for refurbs and they have only ever wanted Garrett ;) ) also spoke to Turbo Clinic who hybrided my garrett 130 for me and there view was the same..

I have dun the pd100-130 swaps to my own car and as u can clearly see from my link the bigger 130 intake pipe for the fabia (also ibiza and polo) IS METAL and IS BIGGER..

..so PLEASE stop attempting to question every post i make because its getting to be a really annoying habit of yours ;)

I don't deliberately attempt to prove you wrong! I comment on all posts and dont take particular notice to who what or where the post came from. Tbh i don't even know what your on about!

Guessing an arl plastic pipe is bigger than a 130 metal one again.... Or the maybe the same i do not know

I think your getting a bit upset :) and maybe taking internet life a little too seriously!

I don't pay people to work on my cars either, i do all the work on them myself, i would say im quite a competent diy'er for not being a mechanic by trade, and a lot of my info isn't from the internet its my own experience!

Doesnt really matter what a leon with an ARL 150 intake pipe is like because its a Leon... and a 150 ;)

The OP wanted to know the bolt on differences between a FABIA pd100 and a FABIA vrs pd130...

The 130 metal pipe from the vrs only just fits without touching the A/C pipes... iv also tryed a 130 metal pipe from a golf and the holes are in a different place to a fabia so causes it to rub after bolting up..

.. so regardless of whether your intake pipe is plastic.. or bigger it wouldnt fit the fabia without modifying something.. so wouldnt be a "bolt on" part as per OPs question..

If its a later pd100 like mine, i got a pd130 alloy inlet pipe from jason(devonutopia) and it was the same diameter as the plastic one on my axr pd100 engine. Ima just fit it because it looks better lol
