At Last its here and some advise needed please

Featured Replies

At Last it arrives on Monday 2.fsi Elegance with extras, but here's the problem. My work plan says over a 1000 miles of mostly motorway driving.

Should I Change things around a bit or will the car take it if I keep my revs down.

One route is across Sweepimg Mountain Roads (as used in Top Gear) So A Lot of temptation.

Anybody got any thoughts on this?

:)

I assume you're concerned about "running in" ?

Just take it easy and keep the revs down, I think varied driving is quite acceptable for a new engine.

Thanks for that my concern was revs as i've read that the fsi works better at around 4000rpm or am I mistaken?

Varied driving is recommended even :D

FSI is petrol so it will warm up pretty quickly. Avoid revving the nutz of it, but also keep it 'high enough' to prevent the engine labouring.

Basically just work your gearbox ;) - Once you've gone past the first say 500 miles, you can get it up the revs a little more, every once in a while.

The main thing I'd say is to get those brakes bedded in too, better for the safety side of things too :D

You're talking about the new octi right?

Since we last spoke my "flexable friend" has had 3 new tyre's and new discs and pads.

can't complain only the second set of pads in 106k.

My car was in country on the 1st of June, two weeks earlier than told. Only work comittments meant that I delayed delivery by a week.

If your interested I'm in Poole on Thursday contact via MB if you want to meet up.:thumbup::thumbup::D:D
