Sticky Knob Problems

Recommended Posts

My gear-lever is fine front to back, but really 'sticky' from side-side.

For example, if I select first, then pull the gear-lever back to middle, it stays in the far-left position & does not return to the neutral position. This makes gear changing a real pain sometimes, especially when you are trying to get a move on.

I've put some white grease on the ball under the gator, but didnt really help at all.

i know, isnt it just....

you need to adjust the ends on the selector puck on top of the gearbox, there is a reset guide if you look on ebay, that tells you how to do it.

Have you looked at the linkage on top of the gearbox casing below the TIP? There may be an obvious sign of blockage (pipe or hose stuck) or a worn shifter bush? Failing that, maybe the cable could be replaced or lubed?? Let us know what you find mate!!

Hi

I had the same thing & I put a tiny bit of oil around the plastic ball, which worked well that was a couple of months ago still good now

Ooo so a bit of lubricant helps with a sticky knob!

Sorry I couldn't resist  lol
