Insurance prices Grr!

Featured Replies

I'm 18 and have just a 1.4 16v fabia. I paid £2600 for my first year! - with 1 years no claims from my bike... They had my car details down as less bhp on their database, and when I stupidly corrected them, it put it up £400. £200 of that I did get off because I argued, but still! Insurance seems like daylight robbery.

I've also done a quote for me at the end of this first year, and Assuming I don't claim or anything, should drop to like £790!

£780 to insure my Fabia with mods declared, 180bhp worth around 4k

Less than half that to insure my stock S3 265bhp and worh over 3times as much.

Fully comp in both instances, cars not garaged, Mrs grr covered to drive the Audi

as well at 29 having held her licence for 5 years.

It's mad isn't it...

About as mad as my 600bhp Nissan costing £140 more than my previous modified Fabia...

It's absolutely bonkers.

Both my Yeti and the Wife's one with both of us to drive both vehicles is cheaper than the modified mk1 Fabia was on it's own.

(my wife has only been driving three years)

I can only guess the Fabia mk1 VRS has got a pretty interesting risk profile. :wonder:

Dont get me started lol i have 4 years no claim no accidents no points etc and i pay 1900 a year for insurance adrian flux quoted me £8+k fully comp and sky said around the 3k mark if i can remember and apparanly i wasnt aloud the 20% because i live in a bradford postcode....... 20% off 3k is £600 no wonder they wouldnt let me have 20% off. I really do hope my insurance does drop this year as im being bumed by scamming insurace every year and its not gettin any better! I know i live in a BD postcode but i have NO points No Crashes 4years no claims and im in my 20's its completely ludacris. I also point out a lad i know whos younger than me and only has 2 years no claims and also lives in a bd postcode has an 8L audi s3 which he pays less than £1200 to insure. Go figure. RANT OVER.

I paid the most to insure my standard Golf 1.9TDI out of any of my cars, including an RX-8 and a 330d. It really is madness.

as soon as you step into a corsa you will crash.....

I don't know if you've driven a Corsa, but crashing is better than staying in the car/finishing the journey! More exciting too I'd imagine.

£140 fully comp with 9 years ncd, no points, not paid over £150 for car insurance in a long time, suppose living in the middle of nowhere and being over 40 has its perks.

My 23 year old step daugther has just traded in her 09 plate 1.2 sxi Corsa for an 07 plate Astra VXR and its costing her £400 a year fuly comp.

21 year old with Aviva 1 years no claims standard vrs cost £100 exactly a month, not sure what it be if paid in full
