New Fabia VRS

Just ticked over 200 miles. Started driving more normally now, not red lined it yet though.

Got a USB MDI cable from bobnaldo (cheers!), just waiting on a 32gb USB stick to arrive. Went for a decent 3.0 USB so hope it's not too slow at reading the files.

Also did my insurance for the VRS and was pleasantly surprised by the premium. By far the cheapest insurance I have ever payed and £200 cheaper than the renewal on my last one!

  • Driven about 30 miles in the new VRS now and it feels great. Obvious new car tightness, but engine and gear change all felt great. The Eibach springs rode very well and there was noticeably less bod

  • Good grief, I gave mine it's first hard accelerate overtaking a car today... Nearly hit the back of the car in front it shot forward so quickly! I think I'm gonna love this car....

  • Loving this Colour combo! Showed the wife these pics to see if I could persuade her to get a new one but she wasn't having it lol!

I also ticked over 200 miles today. Starting to give it a little more welly, but like you Grapo, I haven't gone full throttle just yet.

These cars do seem very cheap on insurance, my quotes are around the £250 mark, cheaper by about £150 than my 04 A3 diesel! Lovely!!

Yeah mine was just under £240! Good stuff.

No worries about the cable, glad it got there ok.

Still a little gutted I went for black over that grey, looks smart.

Thank you also for posting your cable

mines been red-lining often... :p

I don't think there's any harm if its warmed up and cooled down.

Rapid has covered 500 odd miles and had some stick every now and then.

The new car is making an odd whirring type noise which is related to how fast the wheels are spinning. Are new brake pads and discs in contact with each other? It's a fairly high pitched noise, don't think it's engine related.

That is a beautiful colour!!

Seriously gorgeous car, major jealousy!

Just checked the oil after 400miles. At around 90 degrees the oil was in the top section of the hashed area on the dipstick. Has probably dropped slightly from new, but I didn't check the oil when I first got it. Didn't add any oil.

Been having a bit of juddering when selecting 1st when in reverse. Maybe I'm doing it too quickly and I'm still rolling back slightly but when it engages 1st it sometimes struggles initially to drive away smoothly.

Quite possibly if you are not coming to a stop, and your foot on the brake before changing.

george

Autos are very sensible to that, have to achieve full stationery between switching between reverse and forward gears...
