This looks like the colour they are calling "Platinum Grey" here at present. I'm sure the "Anthracite Grey" from last year was a darker, more of a graphite colour.

Just as I thought, it's a bit lighter than in the first photos.

However, it still looks stunning. At last a colour scheme that actually matches!

Is leather an option on these at all?

Or is it an aftermarket job if you want it?

Reason I ask is in my opinion the seats let down the overall

package a bit. They are a vast improvement over the seats in the Mark 1

but although I really like the colour combo (Especially the colour), ride height,

tints etc

Which all combine to make the car look grown up and sporty but not in your face.

But then the seats spoil the overall look by looking a bit budget though.

I honestly think sat nav and leather should have been standard in these to

make them stand above the boggo mark 2s. Just my opinion.

Leather is not an option no. I wouldn't have wanted leather, but alcantara would have been a nice touch. I don't mind the seats at all really, they have decent side bolsters and I like the vrs logo stitched into them. Recaros would have been overkill for the car I think.

At the end of the day it is a budget car, however I'm sure the next fabia will be a better quality package, but at a much higher price. I think this is the last of the cheap Skodas, and I'm unsure if its a good way for the brand to be heading.

Yeah it's the same as platinum grey. Don't think anthracite has ever been available on the vrs, but think you can get it on the monte?

Prefer seats in grey/black/white but still breaks up the colours inside somewhat.

Leather and xenons would be a nice touch, would have wanted it on the Rapid too.

If I was in the market for a fast ish hatch again I'd buy another fabia vRS - or wait for the mk3.

Not bothered about leather seats at all.Good quality leather on a more expensive car is appropriate,but cheap leather won't make a £15k car into a £30k one.

Leather tends to be less durable than modern cloths,just look at the drivers seat bolster at 40/50k miles.

Cold in winter,hot in summer and you slide around with hard cornering.

Ok they LOOK better...I concede the black leather seats on my 350z look better than the cloth ones on the non-GT version,but they really need a specialist to sort out some wear and tear on them,and the car hasn't done a lot of miles.

Agreed,the numerous past comments on here about the poor standard lights are all true!

I've already replaced the bulbs ;)

Well, I always thought the anthracite would be the best colour for the vRS.

Platinum grey is far better.

Two more points:

1. Easily achieved 40mpg on the way to work and the engine only has 133 miles on it. Wasn't even economy driving. Seems better than my Last CAVE engine with 14k on it.

2. I'm sure the exhaust is louder and deeper than my last vrs. Sharkrider, what are your thoughts on this?

with point one I agree (just posted my 500 about my 500 mile weekend journy in my thread) I got 42mpg on the motorway to my friends house, (car starting the journey with 100 miles on!) I couldn't believe it with a new engine! (my last one would only manage 32-35 when it was this new) so bodes well for when it loosesns up! (I also get the same 47 mpg on the way to work that I did in the old one!) so MUST get better once its up to about 7,000 miles and loosened up! I know Seat have advertised the new engine as being more efficient....

exhaust sounds the same to me ;) engine seems a bit quieter.... but then I have some soundproofing removed to get the dual brake in so maybe that is different ;)

Maybe the increased boot on the estate muffles the exhaust sound, meaning the louder exhaust sounds normal to you now haha

Was very disappointed from the near total lack of exhaust noise from the standard twin pea-shooters on mine.

Sorted that with the Milltek catbck - much nicer meatier pipes and a proper low growl to go with it. Can't recommend it enough - go on you know it makes sense to get one!

I'd certainly like a Milltek but it's a lot to pay just for a better noise.

Bilstein shocks would come first for me.

Spotted another thing.

The front caliper looks different to my last vrs I think. Pretty sure the new one has a different metal securing clasp thing on it.

Are they proper 288mm? Upgrade to 312's would need just the carrier and discs if so.

Do you need the iPod mdi cable? I have mine from my fabia if you didn't get one.

I'm swapping my iPod cable with bobnaldo for a USB one, cheers though.

What do you mean 'proper' 288mm?

There are two types of 288mm - Lucas calliper ones like on the mk1 fabia vrs require calipers, carriers, discs and pads for a 312 upgrade.

New ones require just carriers and discs like on my Rapid.
