Hello,

I was wondering if anybody had the data I am looking for.

What I am after are some rather specific details of the Fabia vRS MK2, here it goes:

  1. Brake Specific fuel consumption (lb/(hp*h)
  2. Volumetric Efficiency
  3. Final drive ratios

  • Axle Ratio:
  • 1st Gear
  • 2nd Gear
  • 3rd Gear
  • 4th Gear
  • 5th Gear
  • 6th GEar
  • 7th Gear

4. Frontal Area

I need them to input into DashCommand to get accurate data readings for the logging purposes.

Thank you for your time!

Nobody??

Is it essential to enter all that b****cks to get the App to work properly or can it function fine (albeit with slightly reduced accuracy) without it?

Just looked on the App Store and the app is 34.99 to download. Looks awesome tho! What OBD plug in did you get and how much for that mate?

It's very good but like with all tools like that one needs to learn how to use it properly to get what one wants out of it - meaning I am learnbing how to use it now in terms of working on the logged data. Good thing is when you buy DashCommand you can use Palmerperformance ScanXL Professional to analyze the data. It creates Data Maps, which you can edit or create yourself, graphs, tables and plenty more.I am just strating with it. I already noticed interesting things happening with AFR and Spark Timing Advance past 4000 rpm at full load compared to what';s going on below that threshold. Things I'd like to get is some sensor data like you can get from VCDS i.e. supercharger clutch activation, bypas flap activation etc. Cat temp reading makesnicerading :)

I am using this dongle http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WiFi-WLAN-OBD2-ELM327-Car-Code-Scanner-for-iPhone-iPad-iPod-diagnostic-scan-tool-/161004804130?ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:GB:3160

The *******s are needed for example to get shift light working, acurate torque and power calcs, fuel consumption etc.

It does work without it but you don't get some readings. Not everything is dervied directly from sensors, most data comes from calculated values based on constants (like gear ratios) and sensor inputs.

What I really like about that DashCommand is the ability to create your own Dash designs showing readouts you care about. THere's also a plenty of user made "dashes" to choose from.

Would be quite tempted with one of these. Very useful for pub ammo!

Which gearbox code is it?

1-4 share one final drive.

5-7 share a different final drive.

?? Is the Gearbox code, '0AM',?, not sure.

EDIT.

*Gearbox 'option code' might be 'MLH'*

Someplace i have the Final Ratios Saved.

I had them i think from a Post on 'vwvortex' on the Polo GTI.

Also in a 'VW Driver' magazine, if i can find it or still have it.

Not the ones you are after, but an example from vwvortex

Try posting on there maybe.

Try a google on it, i can not just now bad internet connection.

post-95226-13688698578331_thumb.jpg. That's my coding, not sure which one is the gearbox code :)

Is your Gearbox 'NTW' in front of the paint code.

Second line down before the Interior Equipment 'FB'

then engine 'CTHE'.

Yes - NTW is the gearbox code. I'm not sure the ratios for CTHE/NTW are the same as CAVE/MPP (or the earlier CAVE/MLH). I'll have to check.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. I did have a look at the Polo twincharger gear ratios, entered into the app but speed reading was off, showing much slower than the speedo ... I will measure frontal area later on today.

Still cannot get any info on the first two points...

Much in magazines and online for Twincharger 'Polo GTI' stuff is given with 215/40/17 tyres.

Official Gearbox Ratio info is someplace in my house, just not sure where.

There is stuff comes up on 'Diagnostics' and softwear for the 7 Speed box we are talking about.

There is full Gearbox info & specs.

Trying to remember the Company Name, but failing.

Its not in pages of Google until you get back to pages 10 or the likes.

EDIT, not finding what i am looking for with the ratios, but the best thing i did was the,

'Meccano DSG Gearbox', wonderful & amazing..

Plenty of technical info here, if not exactly what you want: http://www.carinf.com/en/07a0422904.html

Thanks mate, good source of data, sadly it doesn't have what I'm looking for.

I did some more logged runs today. Managed to get the EGT (or catalyst temp sensor to be exact) to 900C ;).

Still a bit surprised how rich it runs at full chat - AFR of 10:1... That's Lambda 0.68!

As a freedom member, have you tried asking a tech on here? or even giving skoda UK a call to speak to there technical department? Seems like a very in depth app!!

  • 1 year later...

i am also looking for this information as i have just got dashcommand working now :)

All the Technical Information on ratios etc is available on an Official SEAT site for the Seat Ibiza, shows Manuals and DSG.

It was Linked in a Thread on here a while back.

I can not search for it now, but it should be easy enough to find.

after some time searching i found this very helpful post over in Fabia mk1 section http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262826-fabia-technical-data/

however i dont understand why they give 2 axel drive ratios on the spec sheet, which should i use?

what seems very strange to me is that the 7sp dsg always lists gear 4 at a lower ratio than gear 5? and it seems to be on every dsg spec sheet i come across, even seat data sheets?

The thing with the DQ 200 DSG as fitted to the 1.4 TSI 132 - 136 kW in the Ibiza, Fabia, Polo & A1, is

The 3 sister cars to the Fabia vRS are on 215 / 40 R 17 as standard and the Skoda is on 205 /40 R17

& remember that the DQ200 DSG as fitted is using 7 gears in 'D',  and 6 gears in 'S'.
