Any reason you didn't spend £5 more and use OE quality Padgid/Bosch vs the no name stuff you fitted? If it was budget related you could have got cheaper from CP4L. Also if your rears have only lasted 25k then I'd consider the return springs mod :)

I bought the discs & pads 1st time because i never knew about the pagids etc. When i wrote my vrs off the discs and pads were still in great condition after 20k somill be giving them another go :) they have been perfect for me :)

I agree I would never put no-name cheap pads on my car, as you never know the quality of them. My father once put some on his old car just before a MOT (no time to order Mintex) and within 5 corners of moderate braking they were smoking! They lasted half the life of normal pads too. This is why we now insist on fitting Mintex, Ferodo and now EBC.

Remember, Performance is desirable, stopping is essential!
