pics of race blue elegance with sports suspension ( and b pillar gap!)

Featured Replies

I like it. A lot. Especially the "lowered" look!! Looks good in the blue!!! Mmmm, perhaps just some minor adjustment for the gap!

Stunning car OP! The sports suspension definitely makes the car look better. Do you find it hard or is it still comfortable?

I'm not too sure what to say about the gap. Have you popped into the dealer to see if it's on the demo models?

That looks very very good! The sports suspension does make a difference and the colour is the muts. As mentioned, would be interested in ride quality.

Have emailed a pic to dealer

Yes pleased with the sports suspension. Not uncomfortable ride, feels nice and firm, and looks better.

Looking good, will be interesting to see the difference with mine on standard suspension but with 18" Golus and Chrome! I'm hoping wheel arch gaps are no worse than my Berb Eleg which sits on 18s, rides ok and looks in reasonable proportion for a car that is not pretending to be a vRS, I was worried the sports suspension and Golus would ruin the ride for my long trips!

Wheel arch gaps have nothing to do with wheel size but a larger wheel will give the illusion of a smaller gap.

So your car should appear to have similar gaps and will look good with the 18s I think

Yes I understand that, more metal, less rubber = same overall wheel/tyre diameter. SWMBOs OctyII has 16" wheels but overall diameter is same as the Berb but the Berb does give the illusion of smaller gaps, even when I compare it to the Greenline Superbs on 16s, and they are lowered I think, so fingers crossed I went for the right combination for my needs but your lowered 17s do look the business!

Half a pint of tyre gel helps as well, but yes am pleased with it.

Lights years ahead of my pd vrs in refinement as well....

Can't stop looking at these pics    , I'm soooooooo looking forward to my new car, been very lucky to have had several new cars over the years but none so eagerly awaited as this one. Need more race blue pics over the next couple of weeks to satisfy my car porn needs! :giggle::rofl:

The MK2 elegance looked very staid in comparison to the Mk2 Vrs, and if the MK3 elegance looks as nice as this I can only wonder what the Vrs will look like.

Your number plate is still clearly visible even though you seem to have gone to the effort of blurring it out :giggle:

Nice car.

Still think its way too high. ordered Coilovers for my Combi and 19" wheels with 225/35-19 tires. dont care about soft ride, hope for 3" lower. i will upload pics. when i get it in AUG. :wall: in Raceblue :giggle:

@ Carrock. I see that you said the ride isn't uncomfortable, I am just wondering whether you could compare it with anything else? I have a 2009 Audi A4 SE and there is no way that I would have wanted an S-line as the ride in the SE isn't great. The Octy3 I drove was a bit floaty and my 10 yo daughter said she felt a bit car sick (but then she does that randomly anyway). I am just wondering whether the sports suspension is still more comfortable than the A4, in which case it might be worth having. Unfortunately we are all different, so it may be an impossible question! Shame the dealers don't have them to try.

The improved looks are not in doubt - no stilts - yours looks great!

I had a test drive in an Octy with standard suspension, and it didn't feel any more wallowy than mine, so I am not sure theres a massive difference apart from lower ride height.

My car doesn't feel much different to the S Line A4 I drove either to be fair, or my Vrs ( when it was new )

If its 3 inch lower I hope you have a good supply of front bumpers in the garage.

Or are you planning to use it as a snowplough in the winter?

Don't forget matching fluffy dice to hang from the rear view mirror :giggle:

Thanks - though similar to an S Line doesn't sound encouraging!

Looks nice. B)

I dont have dices hanging from my mirror, i just hate the "granddad look" i like the sporty feel and a car that stands out from other cars.

Never had a car without lowering, and i have never hit anything, in my 24 years of driving.

Accepted, however if you lower an Octavia 3 by 75mm you better have a steamroller driving in front of you to flatten out any speed bumps
