Just a few pics i've taken at the weekend of my 07 octavia estate. I've had this 4 weeks now.

Used to run a mk1 car which i sold about 5 years ago so it's great to be back in a Vrs after a Renault and a Vauxhall diversion. My wife has a Fabia SE so we didn't completely leave Skoda behind.

I've had the windows tinted because I missed the privacy glass that I'm used to from my previous cars. Felt like being in a greenhouse ! It's good for the dogs, it keeps prying eyes out when I have a bike in the back and I think the car looks better for it. The car is booked in for paint correction and full wheel refurb in July.

Other than that are there any subtle mods you can recommend doing ( nothing boy racer tho ) ... Just small subtle things I'm looking for

Same as mine. Out of interest, roughly how much did the tints cost? Looking to get mine done before we head to France in a few weeks.

Best non-performance mod I'd suggest is getting rid of the Stream head unit if it has one and chucking £400 at a used Columbus satnav. Massively useful and also modernises the dash...

Definitely the grill. Better colour coded.

i Paid £170 for the tints. Car looks a million times better for it in my opinion but its horses for courses, I know some aren't a fan of tints but everybody thinks my car looks better for them. When your previous cars have had privacy glass it just becomes normal!

In terms of the grill - do you buy a black replacement or colour the grill I have?

Colour the one you have. Plastidip it or wrap it seems to be the best options. My body shop said they could paint it but it'd chip really easily...

Car looks nice mate, I've got the same car but in race blue, i'm gonna do tints as well and i have ordered some Matt black plasti dip for the grill and defo gonna look for new head unit, either Bolero or Columbus.

Assuming I can get a Columbus unit, are they a straight swap? i imagine this has been covered many times but in laymans terms - what's required to change over?

New canbus probably vcds coding and the trim around the unit.

Get the grill painted, if its done properly it wont chip any more than a front bumper would.

£60 for my grill to be painted.
