Clutch pedal catching on mat

Featured Replies

Trying to figure out why my clutch pedal is catching on my drivers mat. I have tried two different mats and also tightened the top mat clip as much as a can.

Is it possible the pedal could have dropped slightly? Looking at the carpet it is rubbing at the top of the carpet as well.

just move the mat down a bit thats what I had to do

I have tried that but even with it back as far as it will go it still catches by a couple of mm. I have owned the car almost 6 years and have never had any trouble with the pedal catching the mat before

Is this carpet sitting hard against the floorpan? Or has it moved, leaving a gap. Mine fitted much better with regards to the pedals and fouling after I removed it to dye it, and then re-fitted it.

Are you sure it's catching the mat & not simply sticking down on it's own accord? Common fault on the mk1 Octy.

When i first brought mine it was always sticking down, realized i was riding the clutch by resting my foot on it, started using the foot rest and no more problem lol.
