Skoda Felicia crash test

Featured Replies

I known, old stuff, but...

ADAC Motorwelt 08/1995 has published a crash-test of the cute Fela (as nicknamed in Pl;))

and I'm in a serious need of the disturbing details about the rear seat belt issues they

found... Does anybody have the text?! English translations available on the Web only

mention the problem w/o explaining. Was it solved in the facelifted model? (Wiki says

there were some safety imporvrmrnts...)

I know asking for safety features of an 18yr old car does sound hm, interesting.. but apart from practising I need it to carry my family sometimes and it does make some difference, anyway!

Thanks in advance,

Silgrin

I don’t think this car was VW based? Essentially I’m asking, I thought it was the last car the independent Skoda motor company made, before the VW group Took over.

After the (*) Mrs Thatcher refused to let VW group buy Rover group.

Felicia was a "modernised" Favorit with VW input and some technology.  It wasn't all one way though - Skoda's 1.3l engine (a development of the engines used in the Estelle, 1000mb etc)  made its way in to the Polo as well as the Felica iirc.  It also grew into the 1.4MPi used in the Fabia (and its VW cousins?).  It had quite a life since the base engine first appeared in 1964 on the 1000mb!  Emissions legislation eventually killed it off.
