Hi there, I stumbled across this section while bored at work. I only have a canon powershot A70, but I have managed to get a few decent snaps. Thought I would try linking to one for the first time. Fingers crossed.

That's excellent - the colours are really vivid, I think that would make a great desktop wallpaper.

Thanks. Thats straight from the camera without any touch up too. Was quite impressed with the quality. I have this version as my desktop background after learning a new trick in photoshop

Great pic - I have the same camera and I think it's a great piece of kit (apart from the shutter lag).

I agree, I have sort of got used to it. I talked my mum into getting the a85 a little while ago as her first digi cam, She never used to be able to take a non blurry pic, but is a lot better with that then her old film camera. I do like the canon one's, lots of options for little money

It's only really a problem for moving subjects I guess - candid shots of kids (well, people in general), pets, sports things etc. I love it. As a result, I just found out that my 35mm SLR hadn't been used for nearly 4 years and the 35mm compact about 2 years.

I love candid pics, Posed pics just look all wrong to me and it's really hard to make anything of it. Definitely better to takes pics when people arent looking for a camera

That's a great pic! Where did you go to take it? URL says Parrot Sanctuary or something?

It was taken at the parrot sanctury in Sibsey near Boston. My other halfs mum moved up there. The parrot sanctury is a fantastic place and hadnt been open long when we went. The bird in the picture greeted us at the door. As we were leaving he took a liking to my shoulder and proudly sat there refusing to get off. they have loads and loads of rescued parrots mostly from homes and have outlived their owners. Worth a visit if your anywhere nearby. At various stages I had different parrots sat on my shoulder. When I was having a coffee in the resturant bit the owners brought over an african grey who was doing cat impressions. He fell alsleep on my hand and their cockatoo sat on my shoulder while we all chatted in there.
