Colour coding the octy grill has been going on even before I bought my motor brand new!

Yes colour coding the grill / intake vents looks carp. Colour coding of grill surround looks good on dark cars IMO but less so on white/blue etc.

As drw8 all the plastic fins etc looked shocking...

it's shocking what people think is actually cool on a car, not sure why people feel the need to change something that looks good to start with. I intend to keep my Blackline 100% standard (except ICE) so it'll stand out in the crowd and have a better resale value eventually as there will be none left standard! maybe it's me just getting old!!

I know he did, but if you search the threads there's plenty of examples of that being done to blue, red and white cars.

today i say saw a silver octy vrs estate with the front lower grills and top grill done with chrome strips , front end looked awfull !

The young lads will starts buying the 07/08 ones and Chav them up, an other reason I'm not going blue again.

Its bound to happen as the earlier ones start getting cheaper to buy :(

why is it fake? chrome is chrome and the only thing that is different is the substrate.. it's not like they used "chrome in a can" from B&Q!

Those under 25 or so really don't appreciate how seriously uncool it was 15-20 yrs ago to be seen driving a Skoda. You are the generation who have grown up in the era of Skoda's rebirth and acceptance into the mainstream. Back then anyone buying any Eastern European car (be it Skoda, Yugo, Lada, Moskvitch, Wartburg, Polski) was definitely considered to be a few sandwiches short of a full picnic. I therefore find it funny and somewhat ironic that any Skoda driver should take a pop at anyone because of the car they drive.

I agree, it looks effing awful, but it doesn't harm anyone and if the owner likes it who the hell gives a flying f**k what I think?

The more people modifying Octavias the better. OK, there'll be some bad ones but hopefully more killer cars will start to appear. If everyone on here liked the same thing we'd all be driving around in standard cars with coded grilles and a drive recorder behind the rear view mirror

I really like the chrome slats on the front of my S4, I think it contrasts the dark paint much better than the black pack does. White / light cars suit the black trim better though - IMO

They would be the type that would park on double yellow lines though...

That one with the red grille loos as though it ought to be driven into the ring, with lots of backfiring. by a bunch of men in yellow wigs, red noses and huge shoes, before all the doors fall off ...
